Chris “CT” Tamburello issued an apology to his ex-girlfriend Catalina Hager for leaking screenshots of her alleged private texts after their breakup.
“I apologize to everyone for any inconvenience my slip of the SEND yesterday may have caused,” CT, 44, wrote in a Monday, November 25, Instagram post. “It appears I spoke a bit too soon and way out of pocket. Moving forward, I’ll keep matters like this in house.”
In the caption, he added, “And mostly, Catalina … I’m so sorry I hurt you. I understand this probably won’t change anything. And even though we already spoke about it, it’s only right that I give you a public apology.”
In his since-deleted Instagram post from November 23, CT shared alleged screenshots of texts between Catalina, 38, and other men. Although the post was not live on his page for long, fans caught wind of it before he took it down. “CT discovered messages of her talking about encounters with other men,” one fan claimed on X. “CT posted a 7 minute video on Instagram of screenshots of her conversations but later deleted it.” The implications about Catalina cheating have not been substantiated and In Touch has reached out for comment.
The Challenge star first confirmed his romance with Catalina, who was previously married to former professional wrestler Jake Hager, on Instagram in early September. Based on comments from that post, it appears fellow Challenge competitor Cara Maria Sorbello set the two up. “This makes me so happy!” she gushed. “I love cat for you. I am the best matchmakerrrr #day1.” It’s unclear how long the two were dating before going public with their relationship.
Catalina and Jake, 42, tied the knot in 2010 and have two children together. Meanwhile, CT was previously married to Lilianet “Lili” Solares. Their 2018 wedding aired as a special on MTV called CT’s Getting Married. The exes share a son, CJ, who was born in 2016.
In 2020, CT admitted on The Challenge: Double Agents that he and Lili, 33, were “separated.” Although they tried to work on the relationship after filming ended, he filed for divorce in November 2022. The pair’s divorce battle quickly turned messy, with Lili asking for CJ to primarily live with her amid the split, according to documents obtained by Us Weekly.
In March 2023, CT and Lili reached a temporary agreement. He contributed $7,200 for her to move out of his home and into a rental property and also agreed to give her an additional $761 a month in support. They also agreed on a timesharing schedule for CJ, according to Us Weekly.
However, just weeks later, CT went on a lengthy Instagram rant about Lili, accusing her of “defamation” and “dragging” him. “I’m hemorrhaging for the next how many months paying for everything,” he said in the since-deleted video, while also claiming that Lili originally told him she didn’t even want child support or alimony.
“Why are you still living in my house?” he alleged. “Oh, here we go, now [it’s a] ‘hostile environment’ this, that and the other thing. You’re trying to kick me out of the house? Full custody of the kid? I didn’t know I had a life insurance policy. I don’t know who’s counseling her. The reasons she’s upset [is] because she wanted to file. She didn’t think I was going to do it.”
By November 2023, the pair settled their divorce. They agreed to joint custody and to evenly split CJ’s expenses, with CT continuing to pay the $761 a month in child support, according to TMZ. He also agreed to pay an additional $332 for every week he was away working and not able to share parenting time equally. CT also was granted ownership of the exes’ marital home, but was ordered to give Lili $30,000 for a portion of the equity.
