Fans of The Chase were left disgruntled as they all expressed the same complaint about the ITV quiz show.
During Tuesday's episode four contestants took on Mark Labbett, in a bid to win some money.
First to face The Beast was Stephen, a civil servant from Lincolnshire, who impressed in the cash builder round by answering nine questions correctly. Despite having £9,000 in his pocket, Stephen opted for Mark's lower offer of £3,000.
After successfully making it back to the team, it was Chynna's turn to increase the prize fund. The 31-year-old had no problem following in her teammate's footsteps, correctly answering eight questions in the cash builder, according to the Express.
However, like Stephen, Chynna also chose the low offer of £2,000, bringing the team's total to £5,000. Host Bradley Walsh pointed out that they could have had £17,000 instead.
Next was Rob, an ambulance dispatch officer from Newcastle. The 28-year-old answered six questions correctly in the cash builder and, refusing to take a minus offer, stuck with this in the face-off with Mark.
Sadly, Rob was caught before making it back to the final chase. Carol was the last contestant to face The Beast.
She approached the table with £3,000, but like her teammates, decided to opt for the low offer.
In a surprising turn of events, the contestants on the game show chose to take the minus £2,000 offer, leaving them vying for a paltry £1,000 each in the final round. This move sparked outrage among viewers who promptly expressed their dismay on social media platforms.
One incensed fan ranted: "Oh my God! This team! First two get £8and9k and go low, and the woman at the end is bound to go low because she's telling everyone else to. What a waste! They could have been playing for £90k and they're playing for £5k! What's the point of coming on?"
Many shared this sentiment, questioning why contestants would aim for such a minimal prize fund. A viewer posted: "What's the point? The amount of money back won't be worth winning. Annoying team with silly low offers! " Another was so frustrated that they changed channels, commenting: "Just switched it on...immediately switched it off."
Disappointment led another fan to skip the finale altogether, declaring: "I'm not even going to watch the final. I'm f***ing off to Pointless. Thanks a lot, team."
The choice made by the contestants has raised questions about the direction of the show, with one viewer remarking: "The very deliberate switch to getting Bradley and The Chasers to non-stop say 'it's tactical/smart/brave actually' to go low has totally killed the programme. Totally different vibe from even a few years ago."

A dismayed viewer took to social media to lambast the attitude of a contestant for their low-risk strategy, stating: "Why bother applying for the chase if you're not gonna aim for a decent amount of money. Nobody cares that you're a know it all if you have f all in the pot."
Despite the team's initial efforts, they ultimately succumbed to the Chaser, answering only 12 questions correctly and getting caught with just six seconds to spare.
