Anne Hegerty, best known as The Governess on ITV's The Chase, has teased fans with the possibility of venturing into acting, revealing that a fellow quiz show colleague has written a sitcom role specifically for her.

On the 'A Very Tall Man' podcast, she shared: "I'd love to be on a TV show or a film. I know various people who are trying to get things off the ground," and "One of them is the guy on The Chase, he's written a sitcom with a part for me."

Anne expressed excitement about the project, saying: "It would be brilliant to get that made."

She also jokingly expressed her desire to play a "fat old supervillain" in a Marvel film. While she's excited about scripted roles, Anne has ruled out the idea of returning to reality TV, reports the Nottinghamshire Live.

After her appearance on 'I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! in 2018 feels that no other show could rival that level and shared her thoughts with the Daily Star newspaper's HotTV column: "The jungle is about as big as you can get. Everything else is a bit of a step down. I don't want to do another reality show unless it involves something I want to get better at. I think I'm done."

Anne is cast on the popular ITV quiz show alongside fellow chasers Jenny Ryan, Paul Sinha, Darragh Ennis, Mark Labbett, and Shaun Wallace.

Anne has various commitments outside of The Chase, notably her regular role in pantomime across the UK, and presenting duties on ITV's Britain's Brightest Family. Although she credits the success of The Chase down to the charm and wit of host Bradley Walsh.

In an interview with Best magazine, she said: "Great formats and a brilliant host!" She went on to explain, "You can tune into 'The Chase' at any point during the hour, catch up with it very quickly, and be absorbed by it." Her admiration for Walsh continued, "But our secret weapon is Bradley Walsh – everybody loves Bradley."

She emphasised her admiration for the host's effortless style, saying, "he was made to do these programmes – they just suit him down to the ground."
