The Morning Show’s Kylie Gillies stunned by cost of groceries after quick supermarket run

The first post-Christmas supermarket shop is tough for us all.

But it was The Morning Show’s Kylie Gillies turn on Sunday, when she had to run into the supermarket to “grab a few things” after the Christmas and New Year period.

Taking to Instagram, Gillies showed her bill came to a whopping $441.09 as she held her receipt up to the camera.

“Needed a few things at the supermarket ... gulp!” Gillies wrote, echoing shoppers around the country.

Gillies then held up one brie cheese and a Camembert, writing: “Could be the things you put with the bikkies.”

The post-Christmas shop comes after Gillies posted a lovely message to The Morning Show viewers over the festive period.

Gillies shared a number of photos on her Instagram feed, including several of her family, and another in which she was dressed in a stunning emerald skirt.

“The Grinch may have tried to steal Christmas but the Gillies did get away with her mum’s favourite trifle,” Gillies wrote, carrying a mouth-watering dessert.

“From our family to yours, Merry Christmas. It was a long day. Last pic says it all.”

Gillies has just marked 17 years on The Morning Show, alongside Larry Emdur, the duo now among the most popular hosts on TV.

This year, Emdur took home the highly-coveted Gold Logie from the Logie Awards.
