The reason Princess Beatrice's Christmas plans have changed: report

3 hours ago 5

Days before Christmas, Princess Beatrice's holiday plans are said to have changed. It was reported over the weekend that the 36 year old, who is pregnant with her second child, will no longer travel to Italy to spend Christmas with her in-laws due to medical advice. According to multiple outlets, King Charles' niece has been advised to not travel long distances.

It was previously reported that Beatrice, as well as her sister Princess Eugenie, would spend the festive period with their respective in-laws for the first time since their marriages. Beatrice and her husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, along with their daughter Sienna Elizabeth Mapelli Mozzi and Edo's son Christopher Woolf, will now celebrate Christmas at Sandringham, per HOLA! USA's sister brand HELLO!. There will be a new family member to celebrate with next year.

Buckingham Palace revealed in October: "Her Royal Highness Princess Beatrice and Mr Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi are very pleased to announce that they are expecting their second child together in early spring; a sibling for Wolfie, aged eight, and Sienna, aged three," adding, "His Majesty The King has been informed and both families are delighted with the news."

Beatrice and Edo joined members of the royal family at King Charles' pre-Christmas lunch last week. The outing marked a rare appearance for the couple's three-year-old daughter Sienna, who was photographed sitting in a car with her parents and brother.

While Beatrice will be at Sandringham for Christmas, PEOPLE understands that her sister Princess Eugenie's plans have not changed since she previously accepted an invitation to be with her in-laws. Beatrice and Eugenie's parents, Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson, will also be absent from the royal family's gathering this year.

The Prince and Princess of Wales and their three kids, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, will be at Sandringham. HOLA! USA understands that the Waleses missed His Majesty's pre-Christmas lunch last week because the family wanted to start Christmas in Norfolk earlier that usual.
