The Traitors star Paul Gorton says his one-month-old baby is 'over the worst' after the newborn was rushed to the hospital.

Earlier this week, the TV star, who welcomed Cooper with partner Kate Waldron in November, shared that their young son had been diagnosed with bronchitis and was put on oxygen and an IV drip for fluids. Paul took to Instagram to thank friends for the messages they had received, with his partner admitting their son's condition had gotten worse.

She also added that he hadn't eaten in 12 hours as having milk in his stomach was making it harder to breathe, describing the situation as "horrible". On Thursday, Paul took to his Instagram Stories to re-post his partner Kate's photo of their baby sleeping in a hospital cot.

"We are still here [heart emoji]," she wrote. "It is so hard to see your baby like this! Stating the obvious but I think especially after going through labour so recently and all the hormones in the forth trimester anyways it is just beyond overwhelming. His improvement seems pretty stagnant, tiny pockets of change but it's just been so up and down and everything moves so quickly here!

"He is on oxygen, being tube fed and hooked up to an ECG. I know he is in the best place to get better! Thank you for all your messages wishing him a speedy recovery." Thankfully, not long after, Paul posted his own photo of the now-awake newborn to tell fans that they could be 'over the worst'.

The TV star posted: "Little man seems to have turned a corner and is improving! All this stats are better and the doctors seem happy with his recovery, I think we're over the worst!"

The couple, who are also parents to toddler Charlie, announced the arrival of son Cooper on November 21st in an adorable post on Instagram. Sharing the news, Kate wrote: "Welcome to the world Cooper. What a crazy last couple of days! My waters broke and he was here later that day weighing a chunky 8.7lbs, the exact same weight Charlie was!

"Enjoying every second of newborn bliss as a family of 5 as we know how fast it goes this time around!!" Paul added with a laughing emoji: "We’ve packed A LOT into a year." His Traitors co-stars flocked to the comments to give their congratulations, with winner Harry Clark writing: "Mini traitor!" While Brian Davidson wrote: "Aw yay! Congrats!"
