'Minah delivers Oscar winning performances'

Minah

The Traitors is back on our screens for season three, bringing us an abundance of Claudia outfit inspo and on-screen drama. This year, fans have already found a favourite in contestant Minah Shannon – who has been branded the ‘best traitor ever'.

While the Faithfuls managed to uncover and banish Armani Gouveia in the first week, so far the cast are still clueless about Minah’s true role in the game. Spilling tears, gaining a shield, and playing what could be the most convincing game to befall our screens, viewers have already dubbed Minah a 'world class' traitor.

One wrote, ‘Minah is realllyyyyy that girl. Absolutely no suspicions, got a shield, well liked, amazing Traitor. I love her.’

Another added, ‘Minah is one of the best traitors we’ve had – calm, collected, likeable, deflects onto the right people and delivers Oscar winning performances. Queen!’

With the drama unfolding, here’s everything to know about Minah.

Who is The Traitors star Minah Shannon?

A 26-year-old call centre manager from Liverpool, Minah appears on season three of The Traitors as a Traitor. She previously admitted she ‘likes playing pranks on people and telling them little white lies,’ but was ‘nervous’ at the prospect of being chosen as Traitor on the show.

Revealing that she’ll ‘do anything’ to make it to the final, Scouser Minah said, ‘I like to be honest with people and I think I’d struggle betraying people I’d become close to. I think in the back of my mind though I’d think I’m doing this for my family and that trumps any of the friendships I might possibly make.’

Why did Minah sign up to The Traitors?

After applying for season two, Minah was in the running to appear on the show – which saw Harry Clark win – but was unable too due to work commitments. Luck was on her side this time round, however, and she was able to get the time off work and head on up to Scotland.

She shared, ‘After season two, people kept saying to me that I’d be so good on that show, so I applied again, and here I am! There’s nothing like it on the telly. Me, my husband and my mother-in-law love the show.’

Minah also said her competitive nature would help give her an edge on the show – something viewers are certainly seeing unfold onscreen. ‘I feed off people’s energy,’ she said, adding, ‘If someone’s doing something, I’m going to do it too. I’ll probably do a little bit of a better job. So yes, I’m a bit competitive.’

Is Minah married?

In her everyday life outside The Traitors, Minah is married to her husband, Liam. The couple share a two year old daughter, named Luna.

In 2017, Minah announced her engagement on her Instagram, with the couple tying the knot in 2020. Sharing some sweet pics from her big day, Minah wrote, ‘Yesterday, I finally got to marry my bestest friend and I’m still on the biggest high.’

What has Minah said about The Traitors?

Winning The Traitors doesn’t just come with an impressive title, but also a huge chunk of money. Up to £120,000, to be precise.

Before Minah appeared on the show, she revealed how she’d spend her winnings if she made it to the final.

‘The first thing I’d do is book me and my husband a honeymoon,' she explained. 'We got married in December 2020, in the height of Covid, and we had a really small wedding which was lovely, but it wouldn’t have been my choice, and we didn’t get a honeymoon. I’d love for us to go travelling around America for three weeks.

‘I’d also use the money for a house deposit, which would be amazing.’
