Survivor has had plenty of seasons that featured returning players, but there is an elite group who has played more than the rest. While many contestants have returned for a second or third chance at playing the game, only a select few have played four or even five times.

Rob ‘Boston Rob’ Mariano — 5 Seasons

The one Survivor contestant who’s played the game more than anyone else is Boston Rob. He’s the only player to have been on five seasons and he’s played 152 total days. Of course, that’s not even counting when he came back to serve as a mentor on Survivor: Island of the Idols (season 39).

Rob made his debut on Survivor: Marquesas (season 4) and didn’t even make the jury. When he returned for Survivor: All-Stars (season 8), he was the runner-up behind his now-wife, Amber Brkich. Rob’s next run was on Heroes vs. Villains (season 20), where he once again missed out on being a jury member. He finally got his win when he came back for Survivor: Redemption Island (season 22) and dominated the game. After taking years off, Rob came back for Winners at War (season 40), and although he was voted out early, the Edge of Extinction twist allowed him to stick around to serve on the jury.

Parvati Shallow — 4 Seasons

Coming in right behind Rob is his enemy-turned-ally Parvati Shallow, with four seasons and 149 days of Survivor under her belt.

Parvati’s first season was Cook Islands (season 13), where she came in 6th place. She returned for Fans vs. Favorites (season 16) and won the show, while also solidifying herself as a Survivor legend. On Heroes vs. Villains (season 20), she was the runner-up, but it was a controversial decision to many fans who felt like she should have won. Parvati returned for the Winners at War season (40) and was the seventh person voted out, but got to stick around to be on the jury thanks to the Edge of Extinction.

Ozzy Lusth — 4 Seasons

Unlike the first two contestants on the list, Ozzy has never actually won a season of Survivor, but he’s played four times and made it far enough in the game to reach a total of 128 days played.

Ozzy first appeared on Cook Islands (season 13) and was the runner-up behind Yul Kwon. When he returned for Fans vs. Favorites (season 16), he came in ninth place, but still earned a spot on the jury. His next appearance was on South Pacific (season 23), where he just missed making the final 3 and finished in fourth place. Finally, Ozzy came back for Game Changers (season 34), where he came in 12th and still got to sit on the jury.

Cirie Fields — 4 Seasons

Another non-winner, but Cirie is widely regarded as one of the most beloved Survivor contestants of all time. In four seasons, she’s played a total of 121 days.

On her first season, Survivor: Panama (season 12), Cirie was the “woman who got off the couch” to play. She impressed everyone by finishing in 4th place after losing a fire making challenge to the season’s eventual winner. Cirie returned for Fans vs. Favorites (season 16) and teamed up with Parvati to form a dominating female alliance. However, she was deemed too big a threat by the eventual winner and sent home at the penultimate tribal council, finishing in 3rd place. On Heroes vs. Villains (season 20), Cirie was the fourth person voted out. However, she had an impressive run on Game Changers (season 34) and came in 6th place after being voted out by default since she was the only person not to have immunity or play an immunity idol at tribal council.

Tyson Apostol — 4 Seasons

Tyson also played four seasons of Survivor for a total of 116 days.

It was a rough go for Tyson during his first two seasons. On Survivor: Tocantins (season 18), he made the jury but still finished in 8th place. Heroes vs. Villains (season 20) featured Tyson turning on his alliance with Boston Rob and ultimately getting himself voted out before the merge. He finished in 15th place. When Tyson returned for Blood v. Water (season 27), he was a completely new player and wound up winning the show. He came back for Winners at War (season 40) and was the fifth person voted out. However, he won his way back into the game on the Edge of Extinction, only to be voted out again, ultimately finishing in 11th place.

Sandra Diaz-Twine — 4 Seasons

Sandra is one of two Survivor two-time winners (the other being Tony Vlachos, who has only played three times). She played four seasons and 110 days, while also returning as a mentor for Island of the Idols (season 39) with Rob.

After making her debut on Survivor: Pearl Islands (season 7), she was named the season winner thanks to her strategy of “anyone but me” at tribal council. Sandra brought this same strategy back for Heroes vs. Villains (season 20) and won again. She then returned for Game Changers (season 34) with the others on high alert about her threat level and was the sixth person voted out. On Winners at War, she was the eighth voted out and decided not to stick around for the Edge of Extinction, so she did not earn a seat on the jury.

Rupert Boneham — 4 Seasons

Rupert is an all-time Survivor fan favorite. He’s played four times for a total of 104 days.

Rupert first appeared on Survivor: Pearl Islands (season 7), but ended up in 8th place. When he returned for All-Stars (season 8), he formed an alliance with Rob, Amber and Jenna Lewis, finishing the game in 4th. He then came back for Heroes vs. Villains (season 20) and finished in 6th place. On Blood v. Water (season 27), Rupert switched places with his wife when she was the first one voted out. He went to Redemption Island and lost his first duel, making him the first person sent home that season.
