This Morning star Dr Ranj Singh has revealed he had to be rushed to hospital after suffering a blow to the head at the weekend.
The TV doctor took to social media to reveal he had required stitched following the nasty injury. Sharing an image of himself bandaged up on Instagram, he wrote: "Not quite how I planned to spend my Saturday night."
His post sparked concern from his followers who were eager to discover what had happened. Apologies, I should have explained," he said in a follow-up post. "I slipped and face-planted the pavement."
He added: "Earned myself five lovely stitches. All sorted though! Thank you for the messages of concern."

Earlier this year, Dr Ranj made an exciting career announcement, revealing that his next role is an "absolute dream come true". He confirmed he was set to take to the stage in the musical 'and Juliet' as part of its upcoming UK and Ireland tour, where he will play the role of Lance. "I am absolutely overjoyed to be making my musical theatre debut in and Juliet, a show I've been a fan of since it first opened," he said as he announced the fantastic news.
"I know it's a bit of a change from my usual work but not many people will know how hard I've been working behind the scenes to make this happen and it's an absolute dream come true. I can't wait to work with the incredible Luke Sheppard [Director] and the entire creative team and have the time of my life this year, showing the UK what I'm made of alongside an exceptionally talented and diverse cast. Bring it on."
He has since said he has "fallen in love" with musical theatre. In a chat with RSVP, he said: "Alongside the rehearsal process which was in London for five weeks, I was getting extra acting coaching on the side and I was getting extra vocal coaching on the side.
“I was like, ‘right, I’ve got to catch up with my peers who’re in the show and the rest of the cast — and I have to make sure that I’m doing a good job; I want to do the best job that I could do’. It was a massive learning experience for me."
Dr Ranj works alongside the likes of Matt Cardle, Laura Denning and Sandra Marvin in the production and admits he feels "so grateful" for the opportunity. “I’d love to do more," he gushed. "It doesn’t necessarily mean that it’d be a similar show — I’d like to explore different kinds of shows and maybe do a play."
