What a way to kick off the holiday week!

Charlie Woods, the 15-year-old son of golf legend Tiger Woods, earned his first career hole-in-one at the 2024 PNC Championship in Orlando on Sunday, Dec. 22. The sweetest moment wasn’t the actual milestone, though — it was watching Tiger celebrate with his son and his daughter, Sam, 17, their caddie for the day. The tournament features major champions from the sport paired up with their family members — and Charlie did not disappoint!

The teen teed off on the fourth hole in the tournament’s second round and looked stunned when he hit the ace. His 48-year-old father came over to him with the biggest smile on his face as they embraced in a big hug. Tiger then gave him a playful push while they looked astonished that such an incredible moment happened on the course while they were competing together. Dad was so proud!

“It was a perfect 7-iron, so just kind of hit it,” Charlie explained to the Golf Channel, per the PGA Tour. “Down off the left, a little cut 7. It was awesome. I didn’t think it went in. I don’t believe anybody until I go up there and see it.” Tiger spoke about his son’s natural talent for the game of golf and revealed at the PGA Tour press conference on Friday, Dec. 20 that his son is almost better than him.

Yeah, he beat me for nine holes,” he said. That day is coming; I’m just prolonging it for as long as I possibly can.” Tiger also wants to take the pressure off Charlie for having a legendary golfer as a father. “I just always remind him ‘Just be you.’ Charlie is Charlie. Yes, he’s my son, he’s gonna have that last name as part of the sport, but I just want him to just be himself, you know, and be your own person. That’s what we’ll always focus on, and we’ll always encourage it, for him just to carve his own name, to carve his own path and have his own journey,” he added, via CNN.

Whether they win or lose the tournament, Tiger knows that his son is following in his footsteps and that sweet win was watching Charlie succeed in the spotlight.
