Tom Brady shared a cryptic message on his Instagram Story Tuesday about falling short “again and again” amid ex-wife Gisele Bündchen’s pregnancy.
“It is not the critic who counts; not the man who points out how the strong man stumbles, or where the doer of deeds could have done them better,” the quote, which was first spoken by Theodore Roosevelt, begins.
“The credit belongs to the man who is actually in the arena, whose face is marred by dust and sweat and blood; who strives valiantly; who errs, and comes short again and again, because there is no effort without error and shortcoming.”
The quote goes on to applaud the man who “strive[s] to do the deeds; who knows the great enthusiasms, the great devotions; who spends himself in a worthy cause.”
Roosevelt’s statement wraps up by supporting the man who fails because “if he fails, at least fails while daring greatly.”
The seven-time Super Bowl champion, 47, posted the inspirational message days after Bündchen, 44, and her boyfriend Joaquim Valente were spotted out for the first time since their pregnancy news made headlines.
News of their pregnancy broke last week, and according to TMZ, the supermodel is five to six months along.
This will be her third child overall, and first with Valente, whom she met in 2021 after she signed up for jiu-jitsu lessons at his academy.
Bündchen shares a 14-year-old son, Benjamin, and an 11-year-old daughter, Vivian, with Brady.
The pair divorced in October 2022 after 13 years of marriage.
Brady — who Page Six’s sources said only learned of his ex’s pregnancy days before the news made headlines — was astonished by the development.
“Tom knew that things were serious between Gisele and Joaquin but he never imagined they would be having a child together,” an insider told us last week.
“It just wasn’t something that was on his radar. So when Gisele broke the news to him he was stunned, to say the least.”
He also took to his Instagram Story to share cryptic song lyrics just hours after her baby news came out.

“Oh, mirror in the sky, what is love?” he wrote atop a snap of the sunset.
According to Us Weekly, Brady and Bündchen’s kids “really like” Valente.
The outlet reported that he has been living with their mother in her Miami mansion for quite some time, so they have likely spent a considerable amount of time with him.
The former Victoria’s Secret Angel, meanwhile, is “excited to embrace this new chapter openly,” per a source for People.
