Tom Kerridge’s son Acey is already a ‘giant’ lifting seriously impressive weights.
The 51-year-old TV chef – who has appeared on the likes of MasterChef and This Morning – has opened up his eight-year-old boy, who is already targeting a career in rugby.
‘He’s nearly nine, and he is a giant. In his head, he is going to be a professional rugby player,’ he told Good Housekeeping. ‘He deadlifts 75kg. He got a better technique than me.’
And he joked his son will be rising the ranks to England international with ‘size 16 feet’ if he carries on the way he’s going.
He quipped: ’12 years from now, 21 years old, England debut, size 16 feet, you watch.’
While Tom will be proud of his and wife Beth Cullen-Kerridge’s son no matter what, he revealed that in others, he loves ‘success’ and seeing how hard work has paid off.
He added: ‘I absolutely adore success, and anyone who has taken opportunity and worked incredibly hard and fought adversity to get to points where they are at, and not had it handed to them… Anybody who has made a successful restaurant.’
A particularly idol is Lewis Hamilton, as the keen motorsport fan reflected on how the racer became one of the biggest names in the sport.
‘He comes from a single parent background, comes from Stevenage,’ he said. ‘To come from nothing, through his raw talent, determination and hard work, skills and support from his parents even though they’re split, to becoming seven-time world champion.’
Tom’s son could become the next online sensation, after Gary’s staggeringly enormous boy Daniel made waves as the whole of the UK went wild over pictures of him towering over his famous dad.
Known for being relatively private about his personal life, Gary, 53, gave fans a rare glimpse into his family dynamics with a recent post that quickly turned into an internet sensation.
His 24-year-old son Daniel’s impressive 6’2″ height, especially when contrasted with his dad’s own modest 5’7″ height, became the talk of social media, sparking countless memes and jokes.
And a resurfaced 2019 clip of Gary and Daniel lifting weights in their garden went viral, as the singer joked about the noticeable ‘size gap’.
He wrote under the post: ‘Don’t look at the difference in weights. Don’t notice that I’m stood a little further forward to make the size gap smaller. Lol.’
