Could Tom Schwartz actually be growing up? Rather than dating anyone these days, is Tom working on improving himself as a human? Is he trying to become a better person?
“Honestly, I am not formally dating anyone, I am just hanging out,” the Vanderpump Rules alum said. “So there is not much to say about my love life.”
He shared that he was in his home state of Minnesota for Valentine’s Day and did “nothing” to celebrate the romantic holiday. “I was … with one of my first loves, the great state of Minnesota,” he joked.
Tom Schwartz is not “dating;” he’s just “hanging out” with someone
Prior to speaking to Us Weekly, Tom told the Lady Gang podcast a month ago that he has someone in his life that he enjoys “hanging out with.” But it doesn’t sound serious, since he added that “dating is, like, the last thing on my mind.”
In February 2024, the Schwartz & Sandy’s former owner hinted to Andy Cohen on Watch What Happens Live that he was kinda/sort of in a new relationship. “I would say I am not, not dating. I’m hanging out,” he obfuscated.
He admitted that he was seeing a special someone, but she wanted to maintain her privacy. “I think she would prefer that I didn’t say, but I’m hanging out.”
Not long afterward, he and a much younger Sophia Skoro went public. Sophia is 18 years Tom’s junior. Even though Tom’s ex-Bubba, Katie Maloney, doesn’t see a problem with the age gap, it could become an issue down the road.
Tom’s rocky love life on Vanderpump Rules
Tom and Sophia met at TomTom, Lisa Vanderpump’s bar in which Schwartz and Tom Sandoval are minority investors. Ironically, Tom had recently “made a pledge [that] I’m just going to be single and work for the next two years … Then I bumped into her.”
Though he never admitted to actually dating Sophia, she was last seen with Tom in December 2024. She was present for Schwartz & Sandy’s final day of business before it closed.
Before his relationship with Sophia, Tom and Katie were married from 2016 until she filed for divorce in 2022. The divorce came as a bit of a shock to fans of Pump Rules since the couple had been together for twelve years. They remain on friendly terms and share custody of their two dog-children, Gordo and Butter.
After the end of his marriage, Tom had a brief fling with his former VPR costar Rachel Leviss, who was secretly involved with Sandoval at the same time. On Season 3 of Winter House, Schwartz also had a flirtation with Below Deck Mediterranean Chief Stew Katie Flood. An impediment to their relationship was her shared name with Tom’s ex-wife, which was a little weird for him.
Shortly after his divorce, Tom was involved with Jo Wenberg. They started as friends, developed a physical relationship, and broke up after Jo professed her love to Tom. He just didn’t see her that way and decided it was best if they split. Following their breakup, Tom met Sophia, and Jo was forgotten. But Jo still has hopes that someday they’ll be together since Tom is “her other half.”
