Boxer Tommy Fury has received a number of grovelling apologies and well wishes from fans after opening up about his alcohol issues.

Just a couple of weeks ago, the former Love Island star and professional boxer, 25, found himself in the centre of several cheating allegations following his split from social media superstar, Molly-Mae Hague. The pair announced the end of their five-year relationship and the end of their engagement in August without explanation. However, Tommy felt the brunt of the Molly-Mae's loyal fans as they accused him of cheating on the mother of their child.

While Tommy continuously vehemently denied all the allegations made against him, keyboard warriors were relentless in their bid to tear the former Love Island star down. Tommy, who is a proud dad to two-year-old daughter Bambi, even received death threats from fans who were convinced that Molly-Mae had dumped him after another cheating allegation.

However, earlier this month, Tommy came clean about why he and Molly-Mae were forced to end their love story. The star revealed that he had been dealing with alcohol issues which was heavily impacting his relationship. He told Men's Health: "I couldn't be the partner that I wanted to be anymore. Cheating was never a thing. You can ask Molly this yourself. It was the drink, and the drink is not a good thing."

Following his admission, and following the release of Molly-Mae's Amazon Prime documentary, Behind It All, which delves into the former couple's heartbreaking split, fans have now backtracked and issued apologies to Tommy. Meanwhile, others have wished him well on his battle with alcohol and have shared their hopes that he can get back on the straight-and-narrow and win back Molly-Mae for good.

Underneath his latest Instagram post, which sees the boxer try an array of ready-meals by M&S, dozens of followers poured their hearts out to Tommy. One wrote: "I was wrong about you and I apologise Tommy." Another echoed: "I really misjudged this whole situation and I'm woman enough to admit I was so wrong in doing that. I hope you can make things work with Molly-Mae and be a happy family again. I really do."

Someone else penned: "Get ya lady back Tommy, fight for her… Prayers you are through the dark times." Another fan added: "How everyone has changed up after believing all of these rumours and sending death threats to Tommy. I always knew it was a lie. I hope your doing okay Tommy."

"You two LITERALLY belong together. Everyone's so invested because you both are so liked together," another shared. And another one of his followers added: "The switch up in comments is so funny. Now they have told the truth they all soon changed their tunes. Get better soon Tommy and reunite with your beautiful family."

It comes after Molly-Mae recently denied that she and Tommy split was part of a PR stunt. During the premiere of her upcoming documentary Molly-Mae: Behind It All, the mother-of-one opened up about her relationship with the father of her daughter.

She told Mail Online: "I actually say in the documentary that I wish it was a publicity stunt because it would have been a lot easier... That for me above everything has been the most frustrating part.

"Because going through all of this with the turmoil of a breakup has been incredibly hard. To have those comments and I do see the comments, I see all of them, and people saying 'this has obviously just been done for the launch of her brand or a publicity stunt' that is very painful to read because it's real life.

"Tommy and I have a baby together and it's very, very real. It's a really hard thing that we have both gone through the past six months. I wish it was a publicity stunt because it would have been a lot easier, but it isn't, and I think this documentary will clear up any questions of that. You see the real side to it; it's like you're a fly on the wall and I think people will be quite surprised by how honest we have been."
