The actress' hit show 'Brassic' is getting the chop, despite its roaring success. The Sky drama, which has seen Michelle on screen since 2019, will wrap up after its seventh series and is currently in production.
Just last week Michelle was spotted filming, but fans were clueless that her character Erin would soon vanish from their screens. Danny Brocklehurst, the brains behind 'Brassic', gushed: "When Joe Gilgun and I sat down to create Brassic, we couldn't have imagined in our wildest dreams that we would do seven series and gather such a loyal and loving fan base," reports the Mirror.
"It's been a complete joy to create this eccentric world, but all good things must come to an end, and we want to stop while we are still riding high. Maybe they can finally give us that BAFTA."
Sky is not shy about boasting that 'Brassic' is a top comedy hit: "Fans very quickly became attached to this dynamic group of friends, as they found unconventional ways to win at life in northern suburbia," declared a spokesperson for the network.
They further added: "We would like to thank Joe Gilgun, Danny Brocklehurst and the whole cast and crew – past and present – for bringing us all a truly iconic series, which we've loved for its special mix of hilarity and heart."
As word got out about the axing of the cult fave show Brassic, fans were gutted and took to social media to share their grief. One fan tweeted: "Devastated abut #Brassic being cancelled...a hell of a show."
Meanwhile another chimed in late to the game: "Six years late to the party, but over the last couple of months I have watched all six seasons of #Brassic, and I think it is one of the best British shows of this century. It is absolutely superb. You will laugh and you will cry, and I can't recommend it enough."
On Instagram, Michelle Keegan has been giving followers a cheeky glimpse of their chilly filming antics, posting snowy selfies and bonding moments with the cast. Fans were especially keen on a particular pic where she camouflauged her baby bump under a crew coat while rocking her character's signature hairdo and studying her lines.
