Sharon Horgan has made a major impact on the TV industry over the years, with hit TV shows including Bad Sisters, Catastrophe and Divorce, which starred Sex and The City's Sarah Jessica Parker. She also co-founded the production company Merman.
The actress has recently up about her personal life, particularly her divorce with TV producer Jeremy Rainbird. Sharon and Jeremy got married in 2005 and had two daughters together before deciding to divorce in 2019.
"I guess it was one of those things that was a long-time coming and I feel like weirdly it was connected to confidence," said Sharon.

Speaking on How To Fail With Elizabeth Day, the 54-year-old shared: "We got together, we had a baby, and we made it work for a long time, and we had another baby, and he was involved in the business but there came a point where it was so clear that it wasn’t right for either of us.
"I don’t know whether its slightly being Catholic, some of that stuff was still in me, that idea of not getting a divorce or you just don’t get a divorce.”
She continued: "It’s so hard to go through a divorce and weirdly when I made the show Divorce, I hadn’t gone through it, and I was sort of using other people’s experiences and the idea that anyone who’s been married knows what it’s like to want a divorce, but I had no idea."
"It’s an odd one because, I’ve never been happier but I’m angry at myself, not for the failure of the marriage but for not figuring it out earlier. It’s so destructive I think, and I mean you get one life and that’s an awful lot of time to spend on something that’s not working,” she added.
Despite the difficulties of her split, Sharon said it was a positive change in her life: "It’s a weird one because yes it failed but it’s had such a positive impact on my life, I think the stuff that’s less fun is the business of divorce. Its debilitating, time-consuming, money draining it’s not fun for anyone.
"We both thought about it for ages and had those conversations for ages. There was a point and for that point on there was no going back.
"It’s such a massive move to make that you do need that clarity to move forward with it. I had an inkling that it was going to take over for years and it did."
When asked what her experience has been co-parenting with her ex, Sharon admitted: "There’s no co-parenting it’s just me".
The actress went on to reveal that she is currently in a romantic relationship, though she remained tight-lipped about sharing any further details.
Sharon also opened up about how the production of her hit show Bad Sisters had to halt due to the death of her father late in 2023: “This can be a bit unhealthy this job. It was weird going back to work. In the end we had to shut down the production because I couldn’t.”
“In some ways it’s great and it’s cathartic and you can connect with your feelings, and you can express them.”
“But in other ways, it feels so weird because essentially, you’re using your emotions, and it feels strange and a bit wrong.”
