Donald Trump’s victory in last week’s presidential election was followed by Republicans winning control over the Senate, but Stephen Colbert did find some bright spots for Democrats.
The “Late Show” host said Nevada Sen. Jacky Rosen won reelection in a tight race, and Arizona Rep. Ruben Gallego defeated MAGA conspiracy theorist and election denier Kari Lake for a U.S. Senate seat there.

Lake has previously lost a campaign for governor in the state, but claims she won.
“Not being senator of Arizona is a tough break for Lake,” Colbert pointed out. “But at least now she can give all her attention to her other job: Not being governor of Arizona.”
