The iconic presenter and comedian took to her social media to share a video as she jetted off for some winter sun, while the rest of the UK was covered in snow
Dawn French talks about keeping mice when she was a childA British comedy legend looks completely unrecognisable as she sunned herself on a winter getaway.
Dawn French, 67, has been back on our screens recently thanks to her stint on The Masked Singer together with best pal and comedy partner Jennifer Saunders. It comes as she flaunted a dramatic weight loss and the return of her legendary hairstyle at a recent event being put on by the Rodgers and Hammerstein Association.
Now, the star has jetted off to a faraway land to grab some luscious winter sun, as the UK continues to feel the wintry effects of snow and floods. But whilst the UK continues to freeze, Dawn was seen beaming from ear to ear as she attempted to speak Spanish or Italian in a video uploaded to her social media.
The Vicar of Dibley star was seen getting up close and personal with viewers as she played about with her skin - all while catching some rays at a luxurious location. She was seen donning a small sun hat to help stop her from burning - together with a black string-top, as she gave some cheeky smiles to the camera.
Beaming with positivity, she admitted she was trying to remember some of the local lingo in a video she uploaded to her story, flipping between Spanish and Italian in the process. In the end, Dawn admitted defeat and broke into English to say: "Chips, please."
The exact location of Dawn's trip is not exactly known, but with the Murder Most Horrid star grinning from ear to ear, it is clear she is living it up at her mystery hotel. It comes after Dawn's big return to TV is now underway thanks to her stint as a judge on The Masked Singer.
The star is now set to make an appearance as part of a new BBC sitcom, titled Can You Keep A Secret?, alongside fellow comic icon Mark Heap. Dawn will be taking on the role of "widow" Debbie Fenton, who is given a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, when her husband William - played by Mark Heap - is mistakenly thought to be dead.
Seeing the chance to cash in on William's life insurance payments, Debbie and William agree to stash him in the loft until the lump sum is delivered, so they can ride out their golden years glamorously; but can they keep one step ahead of the curve, as their son struggles to deal with his dad's sudden passing?
Speaking about the new role, legend Dawn joked with her fans: "At last... a sitcom where I can keep my top on... mostly." Her newfound body confidence comes after she was cruelly mocked by trolls online, but she had an ingenious way of hitting back at the haters.
In an interview released in 2014 - shortly after losing seven stone after a concerning health battle, Dawn opened up on how she felt about trolls coming to target her. She explained: "I have never rejected the bigger woman I have been.
"Lots of people do it and say, 'Oh, you look so much better - now you look well'," she told The Times. "'And I think, 'F*** off! Don't judge that other person who I loved.'"
