Kody Brown’s ex-wife, Christine Brown, decided to lose thousands of pounds in the wake of their split in 2021. Janelle Brown followed a similar path but made a significant amount as part of a settlement.
Christine Brown got rid of anything that linked her to her ex, Kody Brown. When her fellow Sister Wives star, Janelle Brown, split up with him too, she had more fight left in her to make some dollar.
Kody Brown purchased the property known as Coyote Pass in 2018 for $820,000, with the intention of splitting the property in five parcels for him, his four wives and their many children.
As three of his wives (Christine, Janelle and Meri Brown) have now left him, it was no surprise that they were all arguing about who will own which part of Coyote Pass on the latest episode.
Christine Brown decided she wanted no part in the matter and literally sold her share to Kody and his remaining wife, Robyn Brown, for a mere $10. She’s since married a new man, David Woolley.

The full cash value of Christine’s portion was valued at $213,420 at the time of her July 2022 sale. She now lives with her husband and has zero links to Kody, except for their shared children.
Janelle Brown fought more than Christine
Janelle decided to fight for her share, settling her share of Coyote Pass with Kody for $340,000, as documented in the Deed of Release and Full Reconveyance at that time.
Meri, however, isn’t even thinking about her share. She explained they haven’t started building on the property yet because “it has to be paid off,” while the home is the “furthest thing on her mind”.
She added, “There’s a lot of family stuff that needs to be worked out.” However, Kody revealed the plans to pay off Coyote Pass during season 18 of the series after he said Janelle “pestered him about it.”
Janelle felt Kody “already made the decision” when it came to the property division as the agreement detailed that Kody and Robyn had four acres each, while Janelle got four acres and Meri got two.
Coyote Pass still owned by Kody Brown
Coyote Pass is still owned by Kody and Robyn Brown. In addition to their joint property, a plot of land in Kody and Robyn’s name purchased for $170,000 was also paid on June 2, 2023.
The latest update from a year ago showed just under $5,000 is owed in property taxes for the land, despite the Brown’s plans to pay off the property, as per documents obtained by In Touch.
Kody and Robyn owe $539.24, $890.15 and $1,292.42 in late property taxes. Kody, Meri and Janelle were listed on the fourth and owe $1,246.77, while the fifth was owned by Kody and Janelle, owing $890.15.
