In the upcoming episode of The Dark Side of Reality TV about the Real Housewives, Vicki Gunvalson admitted she will “never forgive” Bravo for filming one of the worst moments of her family’s life.
She detailed the “traumatic” way she learned of her mother’s passing … with Real Housewives of Orange County cameras rolling.
This makes me doubt anyone in the crew made Vicki a casserole after her mom died …
Vicki discussed the moment she will “Never” forgive Bravo TV for filming in a clip obtained by People. She began, “I think they should have taken me aside and said, ‘Your mom has passed. Talk to your daughter off-camera.'”
“If I was a producer, that’s what I would have done.” Vicki elaborated, “Let me scream and cry on my own and be mad. It was very traumatic. I will never forgive Bravo for that.”
In case you don’t recall:
Vicki reminded the viewers of the night she lost her mother. “We were playing Bunko at Shannon [Beador]’s.” Since Vicki’s family was unable to reach her, they reached out to production.
Her daughter, “Brianna, had been calling, calling, calling, and they kept telling her, ‘Well, she’s filming right now, blah, blah, blah. She’s like, ‘I need to talk to my mom right now.'”
That’s when production set up Shannon’s wrapping paper room with “lights and cameramen.”
“I was really upset that production knew for an hour, and they didn’t tell me. They were out of line.”
Vicki’s change of heart:
During a 2015 Watch What Happens Live appearance, Vicki claimed she was “not going to be upset” about filming such a traumatic moment in her life. “It’s part of my reality.”
“I lost my mother and I signed up for all areas of my life to be exposed, the good and the bad. There’s been a lot of great moments that have been aired.” On the flip side, “There’s a lot of moments that I wish wasn’t on a reality show. This is not a moment that I feel, as of right now, I regret.”
“I don’t blame Bravo, I don’t blame Evolution, I don’t blame anybody,” she added. “It’s my life.”
