Ahead of the premiere of Virgin River‘s sixth season, the drama has already scored a renewal at Netflix.

The cast announced on Instagram Wednesday that the show has been renewed for season seven, which will consist of 10 one-hour episodes. Patrick Sean Smith (Greek, Chasing Life) will also return as showrunner and executive producer.

Virgin River, based on author Robyn Carr’s book series of the same name, follows nurse practitioner Mel (Alexandra Breckenridge) who moves from Los Angeles to a remote Northern California town seeking a fresh start. But she quickly learns that small-town living isn’t quite as simple as she expected and that she must heal herself before she can truly make Virgin River her home.

The show returns to Netflix on Dec. 19 with season six. The cast also includes Martin Henderson, Tim Matheson, Annette O’Toole, Colin Lawrence, Benjamin Hollingsworth, Zibby Allen, Sarah Dugdale, Marco Grazzini, Kai Bradbury, Kandyse McClure and Mark Ghanime.

Last week, Netflix dropped a teaser for the upcoming season, which hinted at a busy wedding season for Mel and Jack (Henderson). “Against the backdrop of Mel and Jack’s romantic spring wedding season, this sixth installment promises fresh twists and turns, escalating love triangles, delightful wedding drama, as well as uncovered secrets from Mel’s father’s past which will transport us to the magic and mystique of Virgin River in the 1970s,” the season six logline reads.

Sue Tenney, Amy Palmer Robertson, Roma Roth, Christopher E. Perry, Robyn Carr, Erin Cardillo and Richard Keith also serve as exec producers.
