Over three years after its release, Walmart has just rolled out a very unexpected update on top of Android TV 12 for its 2021 Onn 4K streaming box.
Previously on Android TV 10, Walmart’s Onn 4K streaming box just picked up a new update on top of Android TV 12. The update, first made available in 2022, made its way to the Onn box early this year.
The latest update brings the August 2024 security patch – matching the latest update available to the Google TV Streamer – alongside “minor bug fixes.” The update weighs in at just shy of 780MB.
Walmart’s support for its Onn series of Android TV OS devices remains nothing short of impressive, as no one would have expected these inexpensive devices to keep getting updates even a year after their release, much less so over three years later.
