Wetherspoon worker shares 'secret' dish 'you won't find on the menu'

1 week ago 3

A Wetherspoon's worker has dished out a brilliantly sneaky hack for all you pub lovers looking to mix things up — yep, it's a secret foodie's delight that's got customers buzzing.

Macey Newberry, a Wetherspoon employee, aka @bigmacnew on TikTok, spilt the beans about her clever DIY kebab concoction.

In her TikTok video, she claims, "Since working at Spoons this has been my favourite creation so far. Honestly, now that I've eaten everything on the Wetherspoons menu as you can imagine I do get a bit bored of the food now and again, but not to worry."

Not one to be defeated by the usual grub, Newberry admits, "When you're creative like me and love food, you come up with stuff like this."

This DIY trick, which is made up of chicken strips, roasted veggies, salad, and naan, is simple enough, reports the Express.

All you have to do is order yourself a Mediterranean salad, throw in three chicken strips and some naan bread, and pad it out with roasted veg for that extra green goodness.

Get the staff to pop it all on a single plate and there you have it, the unofficial Spoons special and judging by the comments on her video, she's started quite the trend.

A third shared their insider experience: "I work in the kitchen at Spoons and love making up meals like this."

Meanwhile, a former McDonald's employee revealed their past fast food exploits: "I worked at mcds 16 years ago and they didn't have vegetarian options then and I LOVED making my own creations with salad, sauces, bread and limited edition sides, still miss it."

Another user praised the culinary skills saying: "Oufff you know how to do it."

And capping off, one more chimed in with a tip for the menu: "They should put on the menu chicken flat bread with peppers onions and cheese would be amazing."
