Where are the original Jurassic Park kids now? Huge career change to Steven Spielberg note

Jurassic Park went on to become one of the greatest movie franchises of all time with many of the stars returning at some point but two of the main characters have embarked on differing careers

When Jurassic Park was released in 1993 the Steven Spielberg creation went on to become one of the most iconic movies of all time.

The cult classic flick won over audiences globally and sparked a series of sequels which ran up until the 2022 conclusion to the story which came in the form of Jurassic World Dominion. The final movie saw past stars Sam Neill, and Laura Dern reunite with Jeff Goldblum in a nod to the original franchise as they joined forces with Jurassic World stars Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard to offer fans a gripping closure.

Two stars from the original film who didn't make a comeback were Ariana Richards and Joseph Mazzello who played children Lex and Tim Murphy in the original offering of the film. The pair have gone on to pursue their individual passions since their starring roles in Hollywood.

Ariana turned her back on the world of showbiz to become an artist and has been very successful in her chosen trade. She now travels the world painting and promoting her creations to her audience.

While she does enjoy living the quieter life Ariana has also admitted that she wouldn't say no to acting again in the future if the opportunity arose. She previously told People: "If some great role or project finds me, absolutely that could be a nice thing to do, for sure."

Meanwhile, her on-screen brother Joseph decided to keep working in the film industry after his role in the smash hit movie. He embarked upon a degree in cinema and television from the University of Southern California.

He also got a helping hand in pursuing his dreams at the time from Jurassic Park director Spielberg - who he says has continued to support him throughout his life. Joseph explained to People: "Steven wrote me a recommendation for USC to go to film school. Believe it or not, I got in. He's been there for me throughout my life whenever I really needed him."

Joseph has continued to work as an actor and scored a huge role came in 2010 when he was cast to play Facebook co-founder Dustin Moskovitz in The Social Network. He also starred in the HBO miniseries The Pacific, which was executive produced by Spielberg in 2010.

Since then he was written, directed and starred in Undrafted in 2016, a dramedy about intramural baseball. In 2018 he landed a role in Box Office hit Bohemian Rhapsody, playing Queen's bass guitar player John Deacon, and he has appeared as President Clinton's former advisor Paul Begala in 2021's Impeachment: American Crime Story.
