Late Sister Wives star Garrison Robert Brown purchased his first home at just 23 years old. Two years later, the reality star died by suicide inside the home.
Where Did Garrison Brown Live Before His Death?
Garrison purchased a $329,000 house in Flagstaff, Arizona, in December 2021, In Touch confirmed. The four-bedroom, two-bathroom home was two stories and featured wood flooring, a fireplace and vaulted ceilings. The Arizona house also had a laundry room and a fenced-in courtyard.
The former Nevada National Guard member was found dead in the home on March 5 as a result of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.
“On [March 5,] 2024, Flagstaff Police officers responded to a report of a death inside a home. Upon arrival officers met with a sibling, identified as ‘Gabe’ [brother Gabriel Brown], and discovered Mr. Brown deceased as a result of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound,” read a statement from the Flagstaff Police Department obtained by In Touch. “At this time there is not any indication of foul play, and Detectives from the Criminal Investigations Division are investigating. There is no further information available at this time.”
Garrison’s younger brother Gabriel Brown was asked to check on his brother after he stopped responding to mom Janelle Brown’s text messages the night before.
“I want to hate you for sharing the good times. But I can’t. I miss these days,” Garrison wrote to members of the TLC crew the day before his death. His concerned mother confirmed she had a “brief conversation” via text with her son before he stopped responding.
According to Garrison’s roommates, who were home at the time, they heard a “pop” come from the reality star’s room, but did not check on him because they did not believe it was a gunshot.
His parents, Janelle and Kody Brown, released a joint statement following the news of Garrison’s death.
“Janelle and I are deeply saddened to announce the loss of our beautiful boy Robert Garrison Brown. He was a bright spot in the lives of all who knew him,” the former couple shared via Instagram later that day. “Our loss will leave such a big hole in our lives, that it takes our breath away. We ask that you please respect our privacy and join us in honoring his memory.”
Janelle Brown Listed Garrison’s Home for Sale
Six months after Garrison was found dead inside his Flagstaff home, Janelle listed the property for sale.
In Touch confirmed the Sister Wives star listed the house for $425,000 in September. Weeks later, Janelle lowered the asking price to $399,900.
After two months of struggling to sell the home, the mother of six slashed the price of the listing again. As of November 11, the home is listed for $389,900.
Prior to Garrison’s death by suicide, Janelle opened up about her concerns for his mental health. “Gabriel feels everything very, very deeply. But he’s also the kid who doesn’t say anything,” she said during an October 2023 episode of the family’s reality show. “[Garrison] just seems angry or sadder, like, he’s not as happy-go-lucky as he used to be.”
