Why Zendaya and Tom Holland Didn’t Walk the Red Carpet Together at Golden Globes 2025

In Challengers, for which Zendaya is nominated at the Golden Globes 2025 for best actress in a motion picture (musical or comedy), her retired tennis star-turned-coach is entangled in a steamy love triangle. But it was a party of one at Sunday’s ceremony, where she walked the red carpet solo, and sans longtime boyfriend Tom Holland. Instead, Zendaya emerged at the Golden Globes 2025 alongside her stylist Law Roach in a strapless, burnt-orange Louis Vuitton gown.

Although the couple has been dating since meeting as costars in 2017’s Spider-Man: Homecoming, it has been three years—since the premiere of the 2021 sequel Spider-Man: No Way Home—that Zendaya and Holland walked a red carpet together. There’s a good reason for the pause, as Holland recently shared. While the actor often attends events for Zendaya, whose role in Euphoria won her the Golden Globe for best actress in a TV series drama in 2023, they don’t often walk red carpets hand-in-hand “because it’s not my moment,” Holland told Men’s Health, “it’s her moment, and if we go together, it’s about us.

Last year, Zendaya spoke about navigating a relationship in the spotlight with Holland. “We were both very, very young, but my career was already kind of going, and his changed overnight,” she told British Vogue. “One day you’re a kid and you’re at the pub with your friends, and then the next day you’re Spider-Man. I definitely watched his life kind of change in front of him. But he handled it really beautifully.”

They may be wary of an awards-show press line, but Holland and Zendaya have further plans to act together onscreen. “It’s actually strangely comfortable,” she told Vanity Fair last year of working with her significant other. “It’s like second nature, if anything. You feel extra safe with the person you’re acting beside. I love working with him. He’s so talented, and so passionate about what he does. He always gives things one thousand percent, even if he’s absolutely worn down. I really appreciate that about him. It feels pretty normal. That’s how we met. Literally, at a chemistry read.”

Zendaya and Holland have even settled on their next joint venture: Christopher Nolan’s big-screen adaptation of The Odyssey, which is scheduled for a 2026 release.
