One woman has introduced the internet to a super simple yet delicious Thanksgiving dinner main course, using only a handful of cheap ingredients she got at Dollar Tree.

Rebecca Chobat, known to TikTok users as "Dollar Tree Dinner," is gearing up for the holidays with recipes that don't leave too much of a dent in her wallet. One of her latest creations has the internet talking.

Chobat took to TikTok to reveal that she made a three-course Thanksgiving dinner on a tight budget with ingredients from Dollar Tree. Her main course is a dish she calls "The Best of Thanksgiving Casserole," incorporating some holiday favorites to make a dish cooked all in one go.

In a viral clip with over 5 million views, she first prepares a packet of plain instant mashed potatoes, swapping some of the water for chicken broth and adding salt and pepper.

She uses that as the base layer in her baking dish before adding a layer of French-style green beans, followed by two cans of turkey, saving the juice from the cans for making gravy, which is layer number four.

Finally, she adds a fifth layer, a turkey stuffing mix made using chicken broth and dried cranberries. After topping it off with margarine, Chobat pops it into the oven to bake at 400° for 30 minutes.

"This casserole is the reason I think this is my best Dollar Tree Thanksgiving dinner yet," Chobat said. "The richness of all the flavors, the little pop of tart cranberry, then the crispy bites of stuffing on top make it a must-try."

Many families will gather on Thursday, November 28, for Thanksgiving dinner, celebrating with traditional foods such as roast turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, and mac 'n cheese. According to Statista, 81 percent of Americans say they celebrate Thanksgiving, with 19 percent saying they don't.

Many people took to the comments of Chobat's video to share their thoughts on her creative recipe.

"I'm watching this from England and we don't even have thanksgiving but I'm going to make this with my Christmas dinner leftovers," said TikTok user AngieF.

"You just saved my Thanksgiving. It's just me and my fiancé because we can't afford to travel to any of our family and money is tight. we weren't going to do anything until I saw this," @XxLuftKussxX shared.

"When I was a kid my mother would make casseroles like this and I absolutely loved them. I really didn't know we were struggling because she created magic in the kitchen," said @noli_timere4.
