Woman who bought cabinet on Facebook marketplace has 'no words' after discovering extremely valuable items inside

A woman bagged the bargain of a century when she bought a cabinet on Facebook marketplace and found some extremely expensive items inside.

Amanda DeWitt from Texas made the purchase of dreams this January when she revealed to her 58,000 TikTok followers she had bought a 'stunning' antique Louis XVI buffet cabinet on the second-hand selling site for just 'one ninth' of its original price.

Yet, that's not the best part of the deal as Amanda said the 'craziest thing' of her life happened when the cabinet landed in its forever home, and she opened one of the compartments.

Panning to the vintage buffet in the footage, Amanda commented that it's 'absolutely stunning, perfect' before going on to explain her wild experience that saw her 'jaw hit the floor'.

"So when I first get it, I'm unlocking the cabinets, as one does, like checking all the drawers, making sure everything is ok", she continued.

"Please look what I found when I unlocked one of the cabinets", she then said as she shows herself opening the left-hand side of the regal cabinet.

Inside, she finds a generous stack of more than a dozen luxury-looking orange and blue boxes.

Amanda then reveals to her equally gobsmacked followers that the boxes contained a pristine full set of Hermès china dinner plates as well as a cake knife from Tiffany & Co.

'Literally no words', she says as she shows off some of the 12 plates which she described as in 'perfect condition' and 'beautiful'.

'Literally what dreams are made of', Amanda added before telling her followers she initially had 'no idea' if the items were left by mistake or on purpose.

However, instead of making off with the lavish pieces, as many TikTok users admitted they would've done, Amanda contacted the Facebook seller who told her the plates had been left behind by accident and would come to collect them.

"I better have some good karma coming my way for telling her she left all that china because that is a stunning china set, like truly, a dream."

In a follow-up video, Amanda said she's glad she came clean about the discovery as it was the seller's wedding china.

But many other TikTokers said they would've acted differently to the discovery and praised Amanda for her honesty.

"I would've said nothing. You are better than me," one wrote while another said: "You are really nice. I would have blocked them, felt guilty for a long time and moved on."

"A spot for you in heaven my girl because that coulda never been me," a woman joked in the comments, "My Hermes dinner party woulda been planned that same day."

"She should have refunded your purchase for kindness," a fourth weighed in.

Another penned: "I aspire to be SO RICH I forget about my Hermes china."
