Young Dolph’s killer has been sentenced to an additional 35 years in prison.
Fox 13 Memphis reports that Justin Johnson has received a 35-year sentence for conspiracy to commit murder and 15 years for being a felon in possession of a handgun. Both sentences will run concurrently with one another — culminating in an additional 35 years to his sentence.
Previously, Johnson was found guilty of first-degree murder, conspiracy to commit murder, and being a convicted felon in possession of a handgun on Sept. 26. He was sentenced to life in prison.
At the time, he made an Instagram post saying, “These n***as taking criminal responsibility I’m taking street responsibility regardless I’m foreva the biggest they can throw away the keys before I ever eat da cheese.”
In October, Johnson filed a motion asking if the court could vacate his sentence and give him a new trial because of insufficient evidence. In the motion, it claims that the court made a mistake by showcasing gruesome photos of Young Dolph’s body at the scene and autopsy photos.
Johnson was one of several people that were charged with murdering Dolph at a strip mall cookie shop in November 2021. According to prosecutors, Johnson and accomplice Cornelius Smith shot Dolph 22 times in broad daylight. Smith later testified that the ambush was set up by Hernandez Govan who was eventually rested for the murder.
Smith also alleged that Yo Gotti’s late brother Big Jook had put a $100,000 hit on Dolph.
