Yvette Fielding says her dead dad told her 'you're a skinny cow, stop dieting'

20 hours ago 1

Yvette Fielding was told she was a "skinny cow" who had to stop dieting by her dead dad. The Most Haunted star said her father still gives her sound advice even though he passed away 15 years ago.

TV’s top paranormal investigator has mastered a technique where the spirits contact her using knocks and taps to spell out words. And her dad is a regular contributor from the afterlife. He came through from the spirit world to tell her to ditch her diet because he thought she was losing too much weight.

Yvette, 56, immediately hit the chips. "It’s this knocking and tapping phenomena and it’s incredible," she said. "The knocking and tapping will start and I will have the alphabet with me either on a piece of paper or on my phone and then I’ll point to a letter.

"So I will say, 'Can you give your first name?’ And it will tap on the right letter. So it might tap on a ‘D’ so I’ll write ‘D’ down and that’s how we get the messages through. I’ll say, ‘Did your mum or your dad have a favourite song?’

"They’ll say, ‘Yes they did. If you sing it or whisper it quietly you watch they’ll join in by the tapping’.

"And they do and that to them is fantastic. They can feel it under their feet. If anyone is sceptical and goes ‘how’s that being done?’, we’ll go, 'have a look for yourself in case you’re wondering if there’s a small person with a broom underneath'.

"It’s so important that they know that what is happening is something fantastic and paranormal. That’s why I get frustrated with science especially the knocking and the tapping. That knocking and tapping noise - how is it happening?

"The fact it has a consciousness. It’s spelling out their first name and their second name - messages. I was on a diet and my dad came through and said, ‘Stop! Skinny cow!'"

Yvette, who has been investigating the paranormal for more than 20 years with husband Karl, said it was not the first time her late father has turned up to reassure her. When Covid hit she was "really upset and couldn’t stop crying".

"My dad came through and tapped out a message: 'Please don’t cry. Everything will be alright. I’m with you always'," she has said. "It took my breath away. I ask him for advice sometimes and he gives it to me."

The former Blue Peter presenter has teamed up with home security company Ring to urge folk to come forward with footage of their own spirits their doorbell cameras may have captured.

She is dismayed science is still yet to take paranormal phenomena seriously - and slammed telly physicist Brian Cox for being a non-believer.

"You’ve got people like Brian Cox who is a scientist, who absolutely doesn’t believe in ghosts. I’m just, like, shouldn’t you be open minded to it?," she said.

"Everybody is entitled to their own opinion, of course, but I would like to take someone like him and say, 'How do you explain this tapping and knocking phenomena then?'

"All these people that have experienced things that cannot be explained. If one person sees something you could say they imagined it, especially in bed, they had some hypnotic sleep experience. But if there is a group of people who have all seen the same thing at the same time explain that to me.

"Explain the tapping and knocking phenomena. Explain a doll spontaneously combusting on its own. Explain some of the video footage that is captured that is so fantastic and so amazing.

"Don’t shut yourself off to it. These people are shutting themselves off to it which I think is a real shame because some scientists should be opening themselves up to it.

"It’s the same as the UFO experiences. Look at the Phoenix Lights in Arizona. A thousand people witnessed those UFO lights, the ship in Phoenix that was stationary over them for a long period of time.

"Some of those people were so upset by what happened that night because their major dismissed it and actually made a huge joke about it.

"I think it’s very disrespectful to a lot of people who have seen and experienced paranormal activity and it is just brushed aside as though these people are making it up or it’s just stupid or it’s all just a lot of rubbish.

"I think that’s incredibly rude. At least do something yourself, 'OK I’m willing to see for myself, I’m willing to have a go.'

"Then I’ll have respect for you.’’
