A 19-year-old has been arrested and charged with murder after allegedly fatally stabbing her 73-year-old landlord.
According to Washington state news outlet KIRO, on Friday night around 7:15 p.m., police received a disturbing call regarding a stabbing. The main suspect in the case was the unnamed teen, and her brother-in-law was the one to raise police’s suspicions about the incident. KOMO reported the brother-in-law told the King County Sheriff’s Office that his wife’s sister had committed murder after a video call in which the girl showed the body off to them. Horrifying…

Per a probable cause statement obtained by multiple outlets, the teen was then contacted by police, but she promptly denied the stabbing. She even went as far as to say the whole thing was a “joke,” the document stated:
“It was all a joke and that she was all the way in Everett with a friend.”
Soon, all that would come crashing down, though. After she was questioned more by the dispatcher, she confessed:
“I killed her.”
The teen’s explanation for the killing was that her elderly landlord had “tried to punch me, and I stabbed her.” Police rushed to the scene and found the landlord’s body. Then, they promptly brought the young resident in for questioning. There, she gave them even more details on the chilling crime.
According to the King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office, the suspect had lived in the building for about a year and had been struggling with her rent. She claimed to cops that her landlord pulled her into a room to ask her about paying her rent, but then the elderly woman supposedly “struck her in the face” which started the entire altercation. She said a fight broke out, in which her landlord “pulled her hair and the drawstring on her hoodie during the struggle.”
Per the court documents, the teen confessed that she hit her alleged attacker back “hard” and stabbed her “twice with a knife that was already in the room.” Police then asked her during questioning about what would’ve happened if she HADN’T stabbed her landlord, and her answer was even more disturbing:
“Nothing. [The landlord] would still be alive and I wouldn’t be here.”
Things got even more troubling when her brother-in-law was questioned. He claimed that about a month ago, he and the suspect’s sister moved out of the apartment, and the entire time, the teen had been making threats about killing the landlord. He alleged that the younger woman would say she’d kill the older woman “if she asked her again about paying rent.” At the time, the brother-in-law didn’t take this threat seriously — but ultimately, it became all too real. WTF!
The 19-year-old is currently being held at King County Jail on a $2 million bond. She was officially charged with second degree murder. Wild…
May the victim rest in peace.
