90 Day Fiancé’s Paola Mayfield is in a better place in her relationship with Russ Mayfield after a rough few years, she exclusively tells In Touch.
“I feel like at this point, I do not have that much drama in my life,” Paola, 37, says as she gears up to join the latest season of Women of Wrestling. “I’m so happy for that because, to be honest, I went through hell to be what I am right now and my relationship is doing much better.”
Paola and Russ, 37, were introduced on season 1 of 90 Day Fiancé, which aired on TLC from January to February 2014. The show followed the Colombia native as she assimilated into Russ’ small town in Oklahoma and the pair continued to document the ups and downs in their relationship on spinoffs, including 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After?, 90 Day Fiancé: Self-Quarantined, 90 Day Fiancé: Pillow Talk and 90 Day Fiancé: Love Games.
The TLC alums recently celebrated their 11th wedding anniversary in Cartagena, Colombia, which the reality TV personality says made up for not doing “anything” to celebrate a decade of marriage last year.
“I want to invite my parents to go to Cartagena and my nephews too, so they can come and spend a weekend with us,” she explains. “My son can hang out with his cousins so he can just practice [his] Spanish.”
Russ and Paola became parents in January 2019 after welcoming their son, Axel. The mom of one says that she and Russ focused on personal growth in their relationship, and teased that next year would be when they’ll finally feel “to be able to adopt.”
“I just feel like I’m ready to. I want to, but I’m in a moment that I like my career. My career is just going so well,” she says, adding that Axel is “super excited” to be a big brother.
“He said he wants a sister, and then I told him, like, ‘Eventually, maybe I will get pregnant again.’ And he was like, ‘Oh my gosh! And then you will have a little brother in your belly,’” she says. “He is really asking for a sibling … I feel like he does need it because I don’t want my son to be alone and I’m coming from a big family.”
Paola’s had a big year. The 90 Day Fiancé alum proved she was a fierce competitor after winning the $200,000 grand prize on Prime Video’s The Goat. Following the major victory, Paola joined the latest season of Women of Wrestling after making her debut in the ring in 2021.
“Women of Wrestling is actually bringing, like, this power to make women like, ‘Hey, we’re here. We can do this too,’ and we can make a show just about women and we can prove that we are the main event,” she gushes proudly. “It’s all about women. It’s all about superheroes. We are not just wrestlers, we are superheroes.”
