90 Day Fiancé star Leida Margaretha’s pregnancy was revealed in a police report following her recent arrest over a domestic disturbance.
After police responded to an incident involving a pet at Leida, 35, and Eric Rosenbrook’s residence on January 24, Leida allegedly threatened to harm herself and told a police officer she was pregnant when speaking about her medical history.
“Deputy Luther asked Leida if she had any medical conditions and Leida informed him she had PTSD, anxiety, OCD and depression, all of which she states she takes medication for,” the police report obtained by 90 Day Fiancé blogger John Yates stated. “Leida also informed Deputy Luther that she is six months pregnant.”
In Touch confirmed that Leida was arrested and charged with one misdemeanor count of intentionally mistreating animals, one misdemeanor count of disorderly conduct (use of a dangerous weapon with a domestic abuse assessment) and one felony count of bail jumping. She was held at the Adams County, Wisconsin, jail until her Monday, January 27, court date, where a judge set her bail at $1,000 during the video hearing.
In addition, Eric, 47, filed a restraining order against his wife. Leida must “have no contact” with him or “their residence,” according to online records viewed by In Touch, which included the exception that Eric “may waive the no contact provision by filing written permission for said contact with the Clerk of Circuit Court’s office upon proof of completion of a Safety Plan with Hope House.”
After her arrest, Leida went online and publicly accused her husband of domestic abuse. “MY HUSBAND PHYSICALLY ABUSED ME. I WON’T BE SILENT ANYMORE. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH,” Leida wrote via Instagram Stories above a photo of herself with what appeared to be a bruise above her eye. “I LET EVERYBODY KNOW WHY I FILED FOR A DIVORCE BACK IN 2024. I WON’T BE SILENCED ANYMORE. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH.”
In response, Eric told In Touch in an exclusive statement that Leida’s version of the events didn’t reflect all the information available. “What she has posted is not the whole story,” the Wisconsin native explained on January 25.
He promised to reveal more information about the arrest and shared a statement days later, which Leida reposted via her Instagram Stories on Tuesday, January 28. The dad of three said the events happened on January 24 and began after their dog Abba had an accident on the carpet at around 7 p.m. that evening. As Eric was cleaning the mess, the puppy ran through it, which “pushed” Leida into a “rage.” After Eric refused to discipline the dog by crating the animal, Leida came downstairs with a laptop.
“I do not know why she chose that but insisted she’d be allowed to hit him with it. Apparently she did not really intend this but I didn’t take it that way,” he detailed in a video clip. “I refused to allow it so she went back upstairs and returned with a laptop and knife. She insisted she’d be allowed to hit him with the laptop or she will inflict harm upon herself.”
Eric said he then “disarmed her and threw the knife across the room.” The 90 Day Fiancé alum then removed the laptop from her arms and said this is where their “memories of events diverge” as it happened in the “dark” mudroom of their home.
“I remember taking a laptop from her and throwing it to the ground, resulting in its complete destruction,” he detailed. Eric admitted it was “complete nonsense” that he destroyed the device and should’ve just tossed it aside.
“What I remember in my mind and reported was that she picked up Abba by the neck in what I thought was a two-handed choke hold. Then watched her throw him to the ground and what I thought was a body slam action,” he explained. “This caused me extreme anger as I cannot allow such abuse of such an innocent animal, to which my response was to gain control of her and restrain her. This resulted in a tussle, and I slammed her into the wall multiple times while I had a hold of her neck.”
Eric then recounted Leida’s version of events, stating that she picked up their dog by the collar after Eric smashed the laptop, which led the dog to bite her, causing her to drop him.
“She stumbled as she lost her footing at the same time. This caused her to flail her arms at the same time she dropped him and the resulting motions are what I perceived as choking him and slamming him to the ground,” he detailed. “I did not recall hitting her but she says I did. In my anger, I must have because she has a shiner and I admit that. She said she was going to call the cops so I called them for her.”
After authorities arrived and took their statements, Eric claimed that deputies told him they had determined he acted in “defense of an animal.” They also informed him they planned to take Leida to the hospital to get checked out, as she was “21 weeks pregnant,” before transporting her to the county jail.
“I offered to have them take me instead, which they refused,” Eric recalled. Eric stated that he and Leida didn’t have a chance to discuss the heated altercation until January 27.
“As we reviewed the events of Friday night, I concede that I took seriously her stated intentions when I should not have. And perceived actions and movements she made in the dark mudroom to be more violent than they were,” he concluded. “To be clear, she is not an animal abuser. This was a one-time incident and I misread her actions. The puppy was not harmed in the end. I also concede my response was an anger, excessive and unwarranted.”
In the next slide in her Instagram Stories, Leida reacted to her husband’s comments and said she didn’t “forgive him.”
“I seriously don’t give a f–k about Eric’s statement,” she wrote in a lengthy response. “And no we’re not getting divorced so people need to stop asking me over and over again … I’ve been asking him many times to end this marriage. But he refuses all the time. I’m not the one that is desperate here.”
The Thailand native then shared a photo of an ultrasound of her unborn baby. “This is the reason why I choose to tell the world how awful piece of s–t my husband is after all the abuse he’s done to me,” she captioned the slide. “He can beat the s–t of me nonstop and I’ll still keep my mouth shut but I’m carrying another life and that is why I’m done being silence!”
A pre-trial conference is scheduled for March 3 and a status conference is scheduled for April 28.
