NLE Choppa took some time away from Paris Fashion Week to silence those accusing him of queerbaiting after a photo from his Playgirl shoot went viral.
On Sunday, Choppa issued a direct response to someone claiming he was "gay baiting," arguing that he was simply "showing freedom" by being comfortable and confident in his own skin.
Choppa decided to discuss the topic a bit further with a video from his hotel bathroom.
"I just feel like narratives get painted because I don’t care so much," he said. "But do not say that I'm a gay baiter because I'm comfortable enough to show off the perfection that God has orchestrated over my physical, my mental, my spiritual, and even my emotions."
“I am not a gay baiter because I posted a selfie in the mirror showing off how beautiful I am," Choppa continued. "I am not a gay baiter if I post a picture showing off how much God has blessed from below the waist with something that got women going crazy. I am not a gay baiter because, in [my] Playgirl shoot, I show a piece of my ass. I can’t show a piece of my own ass without being called a name? It’s my ass!"
The 22-year-old rapper even confessed that he would walk out of his hotel naked, if it did not lead to an arrest.
Choppa has addressed questions regarding his sexuality in the past and consistently revisited the same talking point that he simply loves himself. "I understand me being in love with myself as a BLACKMAN is so RARE to the point that some people try putting the homosexual jacket on my name," the Memphis native wrote on X following the release of "Slut Me Out 2."
He added, "But with all due respect, I love ALL, but my intimacy lies with women only."
After receiving pushback for sharing that he wanted to give back to the LGBTQ community by performing "Slut Me Out 2" at a Pride event, Choppa expressed confidence in knowing "who I am."
"I’m secure, I know who I am," he wrote. "Show love[,] it won’t hurt and also you do know women are a part of the LGBTQ community right[,] you gone hate them too?"
