Christmas Eve and Christmas Day are typically spent at home with family and friends, but there's always a chance you'll need to run to the store.
Whether that's for a forgotten ingredient from a grocery store or a last-minute run for Christmas gifts, you'll want to know the store hours before leaving the house.
That's because many retailers close for the holiday to give their employees time off with their employees.

Aldi Christmas Hours
Like most other supermarkets, Aldi will be closed on Christmas Day. For Christmas Eve, the chain will operate from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Costco Christmas Hours
Taking a cue from other grocery chains, Costco closes for both Christmas Day and New Year's Day. Other holidays include Easter, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day and Thanksgiving.
For Christmas Eve, expect stores to be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
CVS Christmas Hours
CVS's Christmas hours vary by location. While some will be open with adjusted holiday hours, others will close up shop entirely.
Publix Christmas Hours
Publix, which operates nearly 1,500 stores in the Southeast, shuts down on Christmas Day. But it will be open for business on Christmas Eve from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
The popular supermarket also closes for Thanksgiving and Easter.
Target Christmas Hours
Target might be a hot spot for last-minute Christmas gifts, but the store will be closed on Christmas Day.
On Christmas Eve, expect the business to operate from roughly 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Trader Joe's Christmas Hours
Trader Joe's is a go-to for unique snacks and prepared foods, but all stores will be closed on Christmas Day.
Walgreen's Christmas Hours
Walgreen's differentiates itself from many of the other stores on the list because it is actually open on Christmas Day.
Stores will also remain open as usual on Christmas Eve.
Walmart Christmas Hours
Retail giant Walmart may be a solid choice for last-minute gifts as stores will be open from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Christmas Eve.
Walmart will be closed on Christmas Day.
Harris Teeter Christmas Hours
Another local grocery chain, Harris Teeter, closes on Christmas Day. However, the North Carolina-based chain stays open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Christmas Eve.
Kroger Christmas Hours
Kroger likewise will not be open on Christmas Day.
Aside from this day, the supermarket will operate normal hours.
However, for Christmas Day, expect the chain to close down for the holiday.
Americans should expect the post office and banking institutions to be closed throughout Christmas Day as well. However, many fast-food chains like Starbucks and McDonald's remain open for the holiday.
