The latest episode of A Place in the Sun took an awkward turn when a couple abruptly ended their house viewing. Presenter Jean Johansson was tasked with finding Richard and Rooman their dream villa in Fuengirola, Spain, with a budget of £130,000 for a two-bedroom property.
However, things quickly went awry when the first property on Jean's list failed to impress the pair. Despite Jean's efforts to cater to their outgoing nature with an apartment in the town centre, Rooman and Richard were unimpressed.
Rooman immediately expressed his dislike for the communal swimming pool, and upon entering the property, both he and Richard made their disdain clear.
As the viewing continued to go poorly, Jean admitted, "I can put my hands up when I've got something wrong."
Rooman and Richard seemed to agree, stating that the apartment felt more like a short-term rental than a holiday home. They decided to cut the viewing short and walk out," reports the Mirror.
The awkward scene prompted viewers to take to social media platform X, where one fan commented, "Jean not happy... look at her face! "One viewer expressed frustration, writing: "They seem to want more than their budget can buy."
Another chimed in with: "FFS this pair are hard work."
A fourth viewer predicted tension: "Jean will be fewwmin soon." (sic).
But despite the negativity, Jean managed to turn things around. The last property on her list appeared to be a hit for Rooman and Richard, so much so that they decided to put an offer down.
At the end of the show, Jean revealed that Rooman and Richard's offer was accepted, leaving the pair delighted. Fans headed back to X to share their reactions.
One fan wrote: "Surprised they brought. Hope they enjoy their new holiday home." While another watcher penned: "I'm so happy for them."
A Place in the Sun airs weekdays at 4pm on Channel 4.
