Simpson and Johnson first met in May 2010 when a mutual friend invited the former NFL star to a party at her house.
“We connected on all levels,” the “Irresistible” singer recalled in her 2020 memoir, “Open Book.”

At the time, Johnson was still married to his then-wife, Keri D’Angelo, but they had been legally separated since October 2009.

Fans were convinced that Simpson’s social media post hinted that she may have split from Johnson.

November 2024: Jessica’s friend says singer wasn’t happy in her marriage to Eric
According to TMZ, a friend of Simpson contacted a Los Angeles-based divorce attorney in late October 2024 and asked to arrange a meeting because the “I Wanna Love You Forever” singer was “unhappy” in her marriage to Johnson.
The outlet reported that they didn’t know whether the pal met with the attorney at Simpson’s request, but were told the “message to the lawyer was clear.”
A separate person on Simpson’s team also reportedly contacted another LA-based attorney regarding “matters that were divorce-related.”
Per TMZ, she had not made contact with either lawyer at that time.
November 2024: Eric is spotted without his wedding ring

After months of rumors, Simpson and Johnson announced they were getting a divorce after 10 years of marriage.
