John Capodice, known for Ace Ventura and General Hospital, has died. He was 83.
The actor's death was announced in an obituary on the Pizzi Funeral Home website.
No cause of death was confirmed.
According to the obituary, Capodice died on Monday, December 30, 2024.

"John was a devoted husband, father and grandfather and will be missed by all who had the pleasure to meet him," the tribute read.
Before he got into acting, the star fought in the US Army in Korea from 1964 to 1966.
Capodice was best known for his career in film and television, which began in the 70s.
In 1978, he started out with a six-episode arc on the soap opera Ryan's Hope.

The actor landed many small roles in notable shows such as Law and Order, Seinfeld, Will and Grace, Boy Meets World, Melrose Place, CSI and Murder, She Wrote.
One of his most memorable roles was in the 1994 comedy, Ace Ventura: Pet Detective.
Capodice starred as Sgt. Aguado in the film, who was a foe to Jim Carrey's character.
He also appeared alongside Sean Young and Courteney Cox in the movie.
In that same year, he landed another of his most recognisable roles in the '90s.
From 1994 to 1996, the actor played Carmine Cerullo on the long-running medical drama General Hospital for six episodes.

His character returned to the series in May 2024, but was played by George Russo.
In the '90s, Capodice appeared in several film titles such as Independence Day, Speed, The Hard Way, Naked Gun 33⅓: The Final Insult, and Enemy of the State.
He continued acting into the 2000s, right up until his death in 2024.
In 2019, he starred in the action drama El Coyote with Tom Sizemore, Kristin Dattilo and Robert Costanzo.
His most recent work was as Big John in the 2024 TV series, Conversation with Mobster, which he had a five-episode arc in.

In an interview with Networking Magazine, Capodice opened up about how he got into acting, remarking: "One doesn't choose acting; it chooses you."
"As far as other options, I didn't have any. You see, acting was in my blood," he said.
Capodice said the key to success in the industry was, "Each time they tell you no, you pick yourself up from the ground and say yes."
"According to the obituary, Capodice is survived by his wife Jane and two daughters, Tessa and Cassandra, and four grandchildren.
