Addison Rae is gearing up to give us more than just a sip of “Diet Pepsi” — and diving into her mermaid era with upcoming single “Aquamarine.”
Keep reading for everything we know about her upcoming single:
When Does Addison Rae’s ‘Aquamarine’ Come Out?
“Aquamarine” will be released on Friday, Oct. 25.
Addison shared the news of her upcoming single on social media earlier this week. ICYMI, Addison first teased the track prior to the release of her 2024 hit single “Diet Pepsi,” with a fifteen-second snippet of herself walking underwater while a beat reminiscent of Madonna’s 1998 album, Ray of Light, plays in the background.
After sharing the news, constant collaborator and friend Charli XCX reposted Addison’s new single announcement on X, and wrote: “she. is. a. f—king. genius.”
The Brat creator has been pivotal in shaping Addison’s musical journey, with the “Diet Pepsi” singer giving Charli a lot of credit to building her “confidence.”
“[Charli,] you are one of the most inspiring, contagious, beautiful, magnetic people I know,” Addison wrote in an Instagram post after a performance they did together in June 2023. “You’ve been unbelievably generous and humble and kind, even when you have no reason to be.”
Charli, for her part, spoke about how “eloquent” of a songwriter Addison is during a March 2024 podcast appearance on Jake Shane‘s show “Therapuss.’
“She writes exactly like me, when I work with her it’s like working with myself,” Charli said, adding that Addison is very hands-on, in addition to having “really, really good taste.” She also continued by saying that Addison is growing as a songwriter and that anyone who’s worked with her has been “beyond impressed by her work ethic and determination to learn” because “she has such a thirst for knowledge.”
When Does Addison Rae’s Album Drop?
It’s unclear when Addison’s album will drop, but we’re hoping by the end of this year!
Following her debut EP AR in August 2023, which featured the chart-topping collaboration “2 Die 4” with Charli XCX, Addison released her hit song “Diet Pepsi” one year later.
“A fun fact that you don’t know is I wrote ‘Diet Pepsi’ the first day I met the two girls [Luka Kloser and ELVIRA] who produced it,” Addison said during a 2024 interview with Sirius XM. “And so it was fully female-written and -produced.”
