On BBC Breakfast's Wednesday episode, Alan Titchmarsh dropped the exciting news about his new project. The green-fingered guru and seasoned TV presenter, aged 75, has teamed up with famed composer Debbie Wiseman to create a charming Christmas album aptly named Jack Frost - A Winter Story.

Breezing onto the show on Wednesday this week, Alan shared his special thanks to BBC Breakfast's resident weather presenter Carol Kirkwood. He said: "Carol, thank you!". He further showed his appreciation by adding: "I'm so grateful to Carol, we're very grateful to Carol for bringing frost [weather].

"Our launch day is Friday, it comes out on Friday, the album, and that's the coldest day of the year so far... Carol, thank you! ". In a cheeky response, co-presenter Nina Warhurst quipped: "She likes to do that for all of our guests!"

Debbie, the musical mastermind behind this fresh album, delved into the collaboration and said: "We recorded it in May", continuing with: "We put together Alan's story, which he sent me by email one day and just popped on my email - Jack Frost."

"And then I popped it on the piano and set it to music; it just worked so wonderfully how naturally the words flowed with the music. It was an absolute joy to weave his enchanting tale into melody; such a pleasure!".

Talking about what sparked the album, Alan explained: "Growing up in Yorkshire, I remember as a kid we didn't have central heating, and ice would form on the inside of the windows. You'd scrape it off and look out at a landscape like the one behind us, transformed overnight. We wanted to create a Christmas story about the enchantment of Jack Frost for families."

His 157,000 followers reacted with excitement, with one commenting: "Excellent, can't wait! " with heart emojis, another saying: "Looking forward to hearing it", and a third adding: "Good luck Alan!".

This isn't Alan's first collaboration with Debbie. In 2018, the pair released The Glorious Garden, an album of compositions inspired by poems written by Alan.
