After the 2025 Chili Bowl Nationals, Alex Bowman confronted accusations and criticism directed at his team on social media.

During an intense week of racing in Tulsa, Oklahoma, various NASCAR stars, including Kyle Larson, Kyle Busch, and Christopher Bell, vied for the prestigious Golden Drill trophy.

While Larson emerged as the victorious A-Main event winner, the race was not without drama. Ricky Stenhouse Jr. stirred up contention by crashing into a rival without facing significant penalties.

This leniency, alongside other questionable incidents, ignited widespread debates among fans regarding the officiating standards of the event.

The Chili Bowl Nationals is famous as a major annual indoor midget car racing event, attracting top talent from across different motorsport disciplines.

For NASCAR drivers, it serves as an opportunity to race during the off-season. However, the event can also become a hotbed of controversy and scrutiny. Fans took to social media to criticize the perceived favoritism toward certain drivers and teams, raising questions about the fairness of unspecified penalties and on-track conduct.

One fan who voiced their dissatisfaction on X, stating:

"Stenhouse uses car as a weapon, no penalty. Day 'passes before the cone', no penalty. Larson half crashes and brings yellow out, no blend rule. ABR caught tire prepping, warning and swept under rug and no public acknowledgement.

"The list goes on. But hey just a coincidence."

Responding to the rumors of misconduct, Bowman responded:

"Typically don't respond to fake accounts but I take this pretty personal considering I mounted, sized, grooved, and ground all 44 tires we brought to Tulsa. You should probably come up with better rumors since Chilibowl posts the receipts...."

The fan who had initially accused Bowman subsequently revised their statement, attempting to clarify the source of their information.

"Yea I was given wrong information on that one and later corrected that your team was just grinding tires along with the 4kings and Seymour teams and nothing illegal was going on but the chili bowl made the guy shut down the grinding station and confiscated tires, this true?" [sic]

Bowman reiterated his team's independence from those involved in the incident, further stating their adherence to ethical racing practices.

"We had zero to do with that team, they shut that guy down for a reason. I ground all our stuff myself. If you want a good rumor, wet grinding with simple green doesn't really make tires fail tire tests..."
