The popularity of quick commerce services is on the rise, with several key players such as Blinkit, Zepto, and Swiggy Instamart leading the charge. This surge in demand has caught the attention of major online retail giant Amazon, which is now gearing up to launch its own quick delivery service, named 'Tez' in India.

While the e-commerce platform has not shared any word on the same, a report by The Economic Times revealed that Amazon India will be launching its own quick commerce delivery service in late December or early 2025, codenamed Tez. However, the final name is yet to be finalised.

The report further stated that the fast commerce service sector recorded gross sales of about $5.5-6 billion this month led by Blinkit, Zepto and Swiggy Instamart. In addition to these providers, Flipkart already launched its own quick commerce service -- Minutes.

Earlier, Amazon was expected to roll out this quick service in the first quarter of 2025; however, it's likely to be launched by the end of this year. Amazon is yet to confirm the same. The e-commerce platform is also reportedly hiring new employees for its quick commerce project.

The report also added that this matter will be discussed in the next month during a review meeting slated for the first week of December, ahead of Amazon's annual Smbhav event. This move signifies Amazon's entry into the quickly evolving quick commerce sector, aiming to provide customers with even faster delivery options.

The e-commerce site recently introduced a new service named - Amazon Clinic, which lets users book doctor appointments directly through its platform. It offers online consultations for over 50 medical conditions. Users can access this service via the Amazon app with a starting price of Rs 299. Initially, the Amazon Clinic service was accessible only on Android devices but will soon be available for iOS and desktop users as well.
