American Airlines has announced five new routes that will operate once per week beginning in the summer of 2025.

The new destinations serviced by the airline will be located in Canada as well as in the Rockies. The five new flights will operate on Saturdays only, with three heading to Canada and two heading to Montana.

The new routes operate on a seasonal basis. American Airlines' new route from Chicago to/from Halifax will run from June 21 to October 24, 2025. Its flight Dallas to/from Quebec City will operate between August 9 and November 1.

The airline announced three new routes that will operate from New York's LaGuardia Airport. The flights to and from Calgary in Canada, as well as to and from Bozeman and Kalispell in Montana will run between June 7 and August 30.

The flights to Halifax and Quebec City will operate on the airline's Embraer E175 aircraft, while the new routes from LaGuardia will operate on larger Boeing 737 MAX8 aircraft. American Airlines is currently the only airline that will offer these routes.

In a statement shared with Travel + Leisure, American Airlines said: "In summer 2025, American will launch five new routes to help connect customers with their favorite outdoor destinations.

"From convenient access to breathtaking glaciers, awe-inspiring wildlife, and unique natural landscapes, travelers planning their New Year's resolutions will have more ways to enjoy the great outdoors from Nova Scotia to Montana."

Bozeman serves as a gateway to Yellowstone National Park, a destination that has seen a growing number of visitors over the past decade. Other airlines also operate flights from New York City to the destination. Delta Air Lines and JetBlue offer flights between New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport and Bozeman, while United Airlines provides service from Newark Liberty International Airport, according to Travel + Leisure. Kalispell also offers numerous outdoor activities during the summer.

Newsweek has contacted American Airlines for comment via email.

American Airlines and its partners currently operate flights to over 350 destinations on six continents. In 2023, American Airlines was the second most popular airline in the U.S. in terms of passenger numbers, with over 164 million people traveling with the airline.

It ranked just behind Southwest Airlines, which carried over 171 million passengers last year.
