American Pickers star Mike Wolfe has shared information online amid the ongoing Los Angeles fires.
Two new wildfires erupted overnight in the Hollywood Hills and Studio City, adding to the challenges faced by firefighters already battling two major wildfires that have so far killed five people, forced 130,000 residents to evacuate, and devastated communities from the Pacific Coast to inland Pasadena.
Firefighters and other emergency workers continue to battle the fires and assist in evacuation efforts. While the potent winds driving the fires to rapidly escalate were expected to die down by Thursday night, the initial causes of all the blazes remain under investigation.
Newsweek emailed a spokesperson for Wolfe for comment on Thursday.
In one post on his Instagram story, Wolfe reshared a video from the account belonging to the charity Karmagawa. In the terrifying clip, enormous flames rage outside of an L.A. home's windows as two men and their dog watch on. "Two men and a dog trapped as the Palisades fire surrounds their home in California," the caption reads.
While it was not immediately clear if the men and the dog escaped safely, Kevin Dalton, who shared the clip on X (formerly Twitter) said in an update: "I am told the dog and both his humans were able to safely evacuate the property."
In another post to his Instagram Stories, Wolfe reshared an informative post from The Los Angeles Times about how people can help those affected by the raging fires.
"State, regional and grassroots organizations are collecting funds and recruiting volunteers to help those displaced or affected," the post reads. These groups include the American Red Cross, California Fire Foundation, Canine Rescue Club, GoFundMe, Lagartijas Climbing Cru, Set Active and YMCA Koreatown locations.
Wolfe isn't the only celebrity who has spoken out amid the devastation, as many have taken to Instagram to express shock and send prayers to those affected.
Model Hailey Bieber wrote that she is "Praying everyone is safe," while singer Billie Eilish posted that the fires were "sooo scary and devastating." Recent Golden Globe winner Zoe Saldana shared her "sympathies with all those affected by the devastating fires in Southern California, particularly those who have lost their homes."
Big Bang Theory star Kaley Cuoco wrote: "This is heart wrenching to witness what's happening in our backyard," while High School Musical star Vanessa Hudgens also reacted by posting: "My heart breaks for everyone affected."
Various celebrities have also lost their homes, including Paris Hilton, Anna Faris and Billy Crystal. The When Harry Met Sally star and his wife Janice said that they were "heartbroken" by the loss of their home. They had lived at the property since 1979.
"Words cannot describe the enormity of the devastation we are witnessing and experiencing. We ache for our friends and neighbors who have also lost their homes and businesses in this tragedy," they said in a joint statement.
"Janice and I lived in our home since 1979. We raised our children and grandchildren here. Every inch of our house was filled with love. Beautiful memories that can't be taken away. We are heartbroken of course but with the love of our children and friends we will get through this. We pray for the safety of the firefighters and first responders."
The White House has released a summary detailing federal support for California's wildfire response efforts. According to the announcement, the California National Guard will deploy two Modular Airborne Fire Fighting System (MAFFS) units to assist in aerial suppression efforts.
According to the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection, winds gusting up to 60 miles per hour are expected to continue through Thursday, "potentially aiding in further fire activity and suppression efforts."
