"We met in an elevator," explains Kayla Seah, influencer and founder of Not Your Standard, when asked how she met her now husband. "We were introduced through mutual friends at the time, and we all happened to get on the same elevator, so they quickly introduced us to each other. We often say it felt like the universe wanted us to meet. We both definitely felt a strong energy in that elevator that day, which is probably why we always kept in touch. For years we would go for coffee and catch up, but nothing ever happened until the timing was right."

"We used to spend so much time on his family’s sailboat in Toronto every summer until we moved to L.A. One summer, when we went home to visit our families, he told me we were going for an evening sail followed by dinner. This was a pretty standard plan for us whenever we were home in the summer, so I didn’t think anything of it. Once we were on the boat, he led me to the front and got down on one knee. I was completely caught off guard! Then, my family emerged from hiding downstairs, and we celebrated all night long."

"Our whole wedding took place at the Coselli Collection in Tuscany. The property is very large with several villas, so we made the most of the entire place."

"For the welcome night, we hosted it at one of the Villa Controni, starting with a cocktail hour in the front courtyard, where a local Italian folk band played."

@erinleydon

"After that, we moved to the back for a delicious Italian feast! I wore a blue floral Emilia Wickstead gown that reminded me of Italy, and it also matched the blue floral plates I had picked for the night! I wore Material Good jewellery."

I didn’t have a traditional bridal party, just my sister and sister-in-law. It felt intimate, which was exactly what I wanted before the ceremony.

"To get ready, I wore a silk robe dress by Philosophy Lorenzo Serafini. I didn’t have a traditional bridal party, just my sister and sister-in-law. It felt intimate, which was exactly what I wanted before the ceremony. I actually did my own makeup because I wanted to feel like myself and not overly glammed. I did have my facialist, Jackie Park, come out from L.A. to give me a Korean sculpting facial on my welcome night and the morning of the wedding. It was a game changer!"

"I knew I wanted a dress that had drama and shape but was still clean and chic. After trying on many dresses, I finally realised Galia Lahav had the one I had envisioned. I loved that it was a champagne colour, the fabric felt so rich and luxurious, and the silhouette was everything I wanted."

@dosmasenlamesa & @erinleydon

"I felt like the dress did all the work for me; it looked good from every angle. I wore Saint Laurent shoes, a nod to my husband’s tux, and Material Good stud earrings and tennis bracelet. My engagement ring and wedding band were designed by Material Good! To complement my oval engagement ring, I chose an antique cushion-cut eternity band set in 18-karat gold."

"We always knew we wanted to get married in Italy, as we have some of our fondest memories there. Being Italian, I also have strong roots in my heritage, so it felt a bit like home to do it there."

@dosmasenlamesa & @erinleydon

"Initially, we had another venue in mind, but when we visited it, we knew it wasn’t the right place for our wedding. Disappointed and without a backup plan, we boarded our flight back to L.A. Just then, my friend messaged me with a link to the Coselli Collection, an incredible property outside of Lucca, Italy. She knew I was looking for a venue in Italy and mentioned that she and her husband had recently stayed there and found it nothing short of amazing."

@dosmasenlamesa & @erinleydon

"The property was breathtaking, and we immediately knew it was right for us. It had the perfect balance of rustic Tuscany with the touch of elegance we were looking for. We also loved that all our guests could stay on the property, which was very important to us. We knew the in-between moments would be some of our most cherished memories. Waking up on our wedding day and running over to see my friends for breakfast is a little moment I'll always remember."

@dosmasenlamesa & @erinleydon

"I really wanted everything to age well, so I stayed away from trends and stuck with a classic feel. It was important for the décor to fit the villa’s environment. Hydrangeas were the main focus of most of the floral arrangements, with a colour palette of ivory and hints of green."

"The moment I gave my wedding planner the green light to start the music for the ceremony, it started to rain. I was in complete shock since it hadn’t rained all morning; I started to panic, and we couldn’t stop the music, so Gui and our wedding party just went with it and walked through the rain. I watched all our guests put up their parasols that were meant for the sun, now shielding them from the sprinkle of rain."

@dosmasenlamesa & @erinleydon

"My dad was playing it so calm and cool, telling me it would stop and to breathe. I heard my song come on, looked up at the sky, and made one last wish to my Nonna and Nonno to please make it stop raining. I took my first few steps, and I couldn’t believe it—the rain stopped. I looked up and, row by row, everyone’s parasols were going down. Then I saw Guillaume, and everything felt perfect. It was truly a magical moment."

WWW Weddings Tip: "I highly recommend doing a first look and family photos before the ceremony. It helps calm the nerves and allowed us to enjoy almost the entire cocktail hour with our guests! After the ceremony, you're truly ready to see everyone and start celebrating!"

WWW Weddings Tip: "Try to schedule 30 minutes before the ceremony to take a breather for yourself. I felt like I was running around until the very last minute, and looking back, I wish I had taken a moment to soak it all in."

@dosmasenlamesa & @erinleydon

"My vision for the reception was a candlelit table with the villa’s stunning staircase as the backdrop."

@dosmasenlamesa & @erinleydon

"We wrapped the staircase in large floral arrangements and kept the table strictly ivory, with lots of silver accents."

@dosmasenlamesa & @erinleydon

"We made our entrance by coming down the staircase while all our guests spun their napkins in the air and then went straight into our first dance in the villa’s gardens."

WWW Weddings Tip: "Reapply your lipstick throughout the entire day! All the talking and kissing photos really take off any colour on your lips. Make sure to reapply so you don’t have photos without a little lip on!"

"For dinner, we served fresh local burrata with pesto as the first course, followed by gnocchi, fish, and meat."

"I changed into my second look for the cake cutting. At this time, our guests were being served espresso martinis to keep the energy going!"

@dosmasenlamesa & @erinleydon

"We chose a traditional Tuscan cake, Millefoglie, but customised it to be Baci-flavoured (kind of like the Italian version of Ferrero Rocher)."

@dosmasenlamesa & @erinleydon

"As soon as we cut the cake, fireworks went off—it was a fun surprise for our guests!"

@dosmasenlamesa & @erinleydon

"For my second look, I chose a fitted dress from Sandra Monsour. It was nice to wear something fitted and slim after wearing a ball gown all day! The dress was sleek, but the sleeves made it so fun—it was a little fashion moment."
