The Running Man
Deadline reports Jayme Lawson has joined the cast of Edgar Wright’s The Running Man as Sheila, “the wife of Glen Powell’s Ben, who struggles to care for their sick child amid a dystopian future, leading to Ben’s participation in the titular competition.”
Out There
Deadline also reports Netflix has acquired Out There, a spec script the company intends to fast track for a sci-fi/thriller “in the vein” of Cloverfield and A Quiet Place. Based on a script by Shane Van Dyke, Carey Van Dyke, and Ian Levy, the story is only said to center “around a fractured family who must face the most catastrophic day of their lives.” Film editor Stefan Grube is attached to direct.
Star Trek 4
During a recent interview with Variety, Zoe Saldaña stated she’d prefer it if Uhura did something besides xenolinguistics in a potential fourth Kelvin timeline Star Trek movie.
She’s a xenolinguistics master, but I would like her doing something else. I’m curious to see her relationship with Spock (Zachary Quinto) and how that has evolved.
Don’t Move (Murr Version)
THR reports Lyndsy Fonseca, Russ, Tom Cavanagh, Hunter King, Rob Riggle, and Joseph Lee Anderson will star in Don’t Move, a film adaptation of the 2020 horror novel by Darren Wearmouth and Impractical Jokers star James “Murr” Murray. Directed by Maclain Nelson, the story concerns “Megan Forrester (Fonseca), who joins her church group on a camping getaway after losing her family in a tragic accident. The trip takes a turn when the group, including mysterious member Ricky Vargas (Russ), mistakenly ends up in an area of the forest targeted by a dangerous predator.” The film, which has already wrapped principal photography, will include cameos by T-Pain, Matt Biedel, and Impractical Jokers members Murray and Brian Quinn.
Don’t Move (Raimi Version)
Not to be confused with the literary Don’t Move above, here’s another trailer for the Sam Raimi-produced film of the same title in which a woman hiking Big Sur is poisoned with tetrodotoxin, somehow, and has 20 minutes to get herself to safety before full body paralysis sets in. Oh, boy!

Star Wars: Skeleton Crew
During a recent interview with Empire Magazine, director David Lowery revealed that Teek (or a representative of his species, at least) from the second made-for-TV Ewok movie, The Battle for Endor, will appear in his episode of Star Wars: Skeleton Crew as a hand puppet.
I was most excited about having hand puppets on set. It’s the most ancient technology being used with the most cutting-edge technology, simultaneously. That combination was absolutely magical. There’s a character in my episode that’s […] the Teek, from Battle for Endor. And it’s just a little hand puppet! It’s just (wiggles hand). I was like, ‘Is he gonna get digitally touched up, or replaced?’ No, in the final episode it’s just a hand puppet in the middle of this crazy Volume set. The cognitive dissonance of seeing those two things together, live in front of you, is absolutely incredible.
Superman & Lois
Finally, Lex Luthor is out for blood upon learning Superman survived the Doomsday fiasco in the trailer for next week’s episode of Superman & Lois.
