Anderson Cooper Names ‘Most Annoying Thing’ About Working With Andy Cohen on NYE

It just isn’t New Year’s Eve without Anderson Cooper and Andy Cohen on our screens. The dynamic duo has hosted CNN’s New Year’s Eve Live for the past seven years. Who would have thought CNN would have one of the most fun New Year’s countdown shows? Andy and Anderson make a great pair, and that’s in part because they are actual friends. However, even friends can get on each other’s nerves. And Anderson spilled the tea about what annoyed him regarding Andy.

Anderson Cooper says he’s worried what the “clean up” will be the next morning after working with Andy Cohen on NYE

Although Anderson might be annoyed sometimes, he has mad respect for Andy’s work ethic. He mentioned Andy makes it look easy, but he’s “paddling really, really fast under the water.” Anderson also noted that Andy created more content than most late-night talk show hosts.

He said, “Every day when I turn on my phone, I see content that Andy Cohen is responsible for. Much more so than any late-night host.” To be fair, most late-night hosts are not executive producers of multiple shows in a franchise either.

Regarding working together for New Year’s, the pair started in 2017. The show “switched gears,” as Andy likes to say, and added in the infamous tequila shots at the top of the hour. This loosens up the hosts and might cause a regrettable comment or two. And this can leave Anderson wondering what Andy might say next.

Anderson was on Watch What Happens Live and spilled the tea about what he found “annoying” about working with Andy. A viewer called in and said, “Hi Andy, love the show, Julianne [Moore] love the films, Anderson love … the news.” Whoever this guy is, his comedic timing was impeccable.

He continued, “Anderson, what’s the most annoying thing about working with Andy on New Year’s Eve?” Anderson responded, “Just who he’s going to insult, and like what the cleanup on aisle three is going to be in the morning.” Andy nodded his head and said, “Fair, fair.”

The new year is almost upon us, so we’ll see soon enough what mayhem, if any, Andy is going to cause Anderson.

CNN’s New Year’s Eve Live with Anderson Cooper and Andy Cohen airs Tuesday, Dec 31, at 8/7c on CNN.
