Andy Cohen Jeff Lewis Pregnancy Prank RHONY

Andy Cohen and Jeff Lewis are not laughing alongside Erin Lichy and Rebecca Minkoff following their pregnancy prank.

One of the much anticipated moments highlighted this season of RHONY centered around one of the ladies expecting a baby. Would it be Ubah who found love in her mystery beau who Brynn outed last season? Or would it be Jessel who desperately wants to have a daughter?

Both of those storylines teed up the potential of the RHONY family growing, and solidified by “the rumor” referenced in the trailer.

However, it was revealed during last night’s episode that the only thing we would be expecting was disappointment.

Baby No

Andy Cohen kicked off Watch What Happens Live by expressing disappointment in “the prank.”

“I’m not a fan of a prank, I’m going to be honest,” Bravo daddy said to RHONY’s Sai De Silva and Jeff Lewis.

Jeff echoed his sentiment adding,

“I think its a bad move. I think it’s self producing. I think you lose trust in your audience.”

Andy also asked Sai if she was picked up on it being a prank having lived it.

“My mouth was on the floor, I was completely in shock.”

Same, Sai, same.

My Thoughts

As a rebooted RHONY lover, I have given the ladies the grace and patience they deserved despite the majority’s disinterest. I’ve found them refreshing and fun. You can’t compare anything to the OG RHONY women in their prime. Nothing can touch the Morgan Letters or the “Bezerkshires.”

I went into the updated franchise under the guise it was a new show and appreciated it for what it was. There would be no reason to reboot the current cast if it worked, and OG RHONY no longer worked.

Having said that, if this new cast wants a fighting chance at the longevity and praise the earlier seasons had, they will never find it in overly produced storylines.

Rebecca Minkoff tried it once with her attempt at curating a “fake beef” with Jenna Lyons. The public does not want fake, they want genuine and authentic. Even if it’s fake, give us SOMETHING. We don’t want a fake pregnancy. Now or ever.

RHONY is going to tank the franchise and lose it’s loyal fanbase by continuing down this road.

Pranks are one of the lowest forms of comedy and its clear RHONY thinks its audience isn’t smart enough to clock it.

What were your thoughts from last night’s RHONY?
