The Los Angeles Angels made their first big splash in free agency Monday, reportedly agreeing to sign an all-star pitcher to a three-year, $63 million contract.
Yusei Kikuchi went 5-1 in 10 starts for the Houston Astros last season after arriving in a deadline-day trade with the Toronto Blue Jays. He pitched to a 2.70 ERA, helping the Astros clinch the American League West — in which the Angels finished a distant fifth in 2024.
Jon Heyman of the New York Post was the first to report the news.
Kikuchi, 33, is 41-47 with a 4.57 ERA in 166 career starts for the Astros, Seattle Mariners and Toronto Blue Jays.
