Anne-Marie put on a united front with her husband, rapper Slowthai, as he arrived at court to face rape charges.

The 33-year-old Alarm singer has been married to 29-year-old Slowthai - real name Tyron Kaymone Frampton - since 2022 and they welcomed a daughter together in February this year. In May 2023, Frampton was charged with two counts of rape stemming from an alleged incident that is said to have taken place in September 2021.

The musician has plead not guilty to the charges against him and was due to face trial in July this year - however, proceedings were delayed to November. On Monday, the trial - which is expected to last three weeks - began and both Frampton and his wife arrived at Oxford Crown Court for the beginning of proceedings.

Frampton looked confident as he arrived and pointed at the camera while showing a slight grin. He wore an olive green coloured jumper, white shirt, and black trousers and shoes. Anne-Marie was at his side and the couple walked hand in hand towards the court.

The Alarm singer sported bright red hair, a large, fluffy hat, a white shirt, black trousers, and a black jacket. She looked solemn as she walked alongside her husband ahead of a jury being sworn in for the imminent trial. Frampton has been accused of rape against two separate women on the same night and is also charged with sexual assault against one of the alleged victims. Co-defendant Alex Blake-Walker is accused of the same charges - and both he and Frampton have denied all charges against them.

Judge Ian Pringle told the jury of eight men and four women they should not discuss the case with anyone, do any research and avoid news reports of the trial. He said: “This case may attract some publicity. If it does, please remember a reporter’s report is just their view of the case. What matters is what you make of the evidence in the case. Try not to read, listen or watch any reports if it does come about."

The judge added: “Remember it is your view of the case that matters.” Judge Pringle then detailed that the trial is expected to last up to three weeks. Heather Stangoe, prosecuting, will open the Crown’s case against the two defendants, who deny all the charges, on Tuesday.

The court setting will see Patrick Gibbs KC representing Frampton and Sheryl Nwosu representing Blake-Walker. The trial was adjourned until Tuesday.

Frampton's career has been impacted by the allegations made against him following his arrival on the charts in 2016. He was cut from the line-up of Reading, Leeds and Glastonbury festivals once charges were brought against him and has not released new music since his album, Ugly, was released in March 2023.

His debut album, titled Nothing Great About Britain, was nominated for the 2019 Mercury Music prize - and his single My High featuring Disclosure and Aminé was nominated for the Best Dance Recording award at the 2021 Grammy Awards. The Mirror has approached Frampton's representatives for comment.

The trial continues.
